What was that about?

Well, in Florida, you know, schools have their vaccine requirements and schedules, but Florida state law, same law that every state follows, has exemptions that have to be provided for people that have a religious objection or a medical need for an exemption from the vaccines.

um it's come to our attention our office got a lot of complaints and outreach that florida's catholic schools ironically are not doing this now they're not public schools they're independent they're religious schools so they've got a lot of independence from the state for good reason sure but they still have to follow general legal requirements unless they cite that their religious teaching um you know disagrees with those requirements and there it's you know generally the state cannot override those religious tenets, again, for good reason.

But here, I mean, Catholic teaching is written down.

It's universal.

It's online.

And for a long time, the Catholic Church has recognized right to conscience, has respected pro-life views.

What is one, I don't want to use the word story, one case, one area of focus that is announced, it's out there, you're engaged in it, your office is doing it, that people just, it's not on the radar of most people, but it ought to be.

Give us your view of it, both just as a Christian who practices his own faith, but also as an attorney general who might be looking into whether these players were discriminated against.

Well, we need good leaders, strong leaders to stand up against religious persecution.

It seems every time there's one of these stories where one of these leagues and big corporations are silencing speech, it almost always is Christian or biblical speech.

Yes, business have some First Amendment rights.

They can impose rules on uniform requirements.

But if they're disproportionately enforcing the law against Christian viewpoints and not others, then they're gonna have a problem under Florida law.
