That was financed by money launderers who took out money from the Malaysian Sovereign Trust Fund, 1MDB, and they defrauded the sovereign wealth fund of billions, and they invested hundreds of millions into the production of The Wolf of Wall Street.

So how ironic is that? Now, in this case, the US prosecutors, i.e., the US Department of Justice, did get wind of it and did investigate it, and eventually they did prosecute the producers, and they fined them $60 million.
