15:13
could you talk a little bit about that because it's such a unique climate uh england
15:17
Yeah, absolutely.
15:18
So I'll even start with winter.
15:20
That's OK.
15:21
So winter is here the worst season for foraging, although it doesn't get too extreme.
15:26
It is a time when nature takes a bit of a rest.
15:29
But I often describe winter as well as although it's the worst season for foraging, it's better than a lot of people also think.

What are some of the misconceptions that people arrive to your workshops with, James?
8:39
What is your favorite or a favorite, to make it a little easier, 4th of July memory?
8:47
You want to go first, Angela? Go.
8:50
Well, you know, I relive this memory every day because I have a photograph of it.
8:55
And, you know, so whenever my wife calls me, a photograph flashes on my phone of our first Fourth of July together.
9:03
Oh, nice.
9:04
She is we're down in Oregon with her family.
9:07
You know, everyone's there.

8 MINS LATER

17:27
Yeah.
11:11
But what exactly is happening when people are on the medications that is sort of allowing this success to happen?
11:19
So what happens is the way the medications work, put simply, is they make you satisfied on far less food.
11:28
So we can do a lifestyle program and say, when do you reduce your food intake by 25%? You could do it, but you're hungry.
11:37
With these medications, you naturally reduce your food intake by that much, and you're not hungry.
11:43
People say, I forget to eat.
11:45
I'm not hungry.
11:45
I don't desire food anymore.

It's a
12:26
Had I had this knowledge that I have now, I may have made a different choice, but I still wrestle with whether or not I would have been able to be successful, because I think that, again, the majority of people who are using these medications, not for vanity reasons, but are genuinely struggling with the scale and struggling with food addiction, that boost-
12:47
boost-... of being able to curb that appetite and reduce the cravings, the food noise, as you put it, that's a heck of a thing, and I don't think that people take that, that little boost seriously enough, how much that can help to take the edge off.
13:01
I, I agree a hundred percent, and what I would say to you and other people in that position is, don't beat yourself up over this.
13:09
If the meds or if the surgery works to get you going, that's okay.
13:15
You know, we get people who, who almost think that taking the medications is cheating.
13:20
"Oh, I shouldn't have to take medications to do that." No, the medications are leveling the playing field.
13:28
If that's what gets you going, fine.

17 MINS LATER

30:20
... sudden urges?
