Or is there a particular drive, do you think, to more self-sufficiency in the past few years through... multiple factors or the cost of living? Or what do you think has kind of seen that, as you call it, renaissance in doing so? Oh,

I think in every country around the world, there's different issues that are at the top, if you get me.
J

But with regards to Ireland, I think it's kind of the ineptitude of government.
J
8:25James ConwayGUEST
And a lot of people have a difficulty accepting that A government that can waste like millions upon millions of taxpayers funds.
J
8:37James ConwayGUEST
Like you do come to a headspace where you think at some stage there's not going to be millions to waste and we're going to be left in a fairly bad situation.

A lot of people who would be familiar with the grid, you know, people who work for the ESB and air grid and stuff like that, they realize how close our grid is actually to flat.

live their lives you know basically in subsidies and handouts or do you think people are actually maybe this is a bit of a bizarre thing to say but i kind of are happy to be kind of you know getting handouts and handouts might be the wrong way of saying it but as in getting getting grants and and and being reliant upon the government for their you know to be self-sustainable and to kind of see them through life and just want a quiet life or do you think that's am i wrong in saying that
Vaccines executive order, Inside Wisconsin Politics, Saint Delilah

How do these recommendations in this order differ from what the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends? What stands out there?
J
2:10James ConwayGUEST
Yeah, I think the big things really are that we've routinely recommended now for many, many years, um, vaccines against 18, 19 different diseases, um, that we really think every kid deserves an equal opportunity to be protected against.
J
2:24James ConwayGUEST
Um, and this really sort of puts a, a large group of those into this sort of optional area where people are being encouraged to have a discussion and make a decision individually.
J
2:34James ConwayGUEST
You know, and I think we all have to recognize that that's always been part of this process, but it does sort of devalue some of these vaccines.
J
2:42James ConwayGUEST
I think the other big part of this is this call for people getting one vaccine at a time, and the burden that that'll put on families, both from a time management, but also from a cost standpoint, if you think about the fact that you pay a copay every time you go to the doctor.
J
2:57James ConwayGUEST
Instead of being able to bundle these things together, you're gonna be asked to do them separately, just makes no intuitive sense.
J

And then really the final part of it is, again, reversing decades of progress where if you're a kid, you don't want more needles than you need to have.

... over my red shirt year just in the, in the very first, uh, tournament of the season.

And, uh, and then he went on to, to do really, really well and be really, rank really high, and I was like, "Well, you know, I think, I think I can do that too.
J
20:35James ConwayGUEST
I can beat those next level guys too." Um, and then it was just kinda honing the skillset and the mindset to, to then go and treat every match the same and treat those top 10 matches like they're the top 20 matches, those top 20 matches like they're, you know, just anyone in front of you, you're gonna treat the same.
J
20:53James ConwayGUEST
So I think it was probably just a combination of having some success my junior year, hitting some, some top ranked guys and being close and competitive with my, my red shirt year, and then coming into this year, uh, I was like, "All right, well, we'll see what happens.

What I, I guess what I'm saying is like I wouldn't tell from your demeanor, like you still seem like a pretty positive like, you know, things are gonna be okay even though we're just a few, a few weeks removed that you're, you're still pre- you're pretty upbeat and like you, you don't let it show, I guess.
