What is the tip that got you started?
2:24
Sure.
2:25
So yeah, I mean, it's one of those things you hear and you think, "Is this for real?" But like, you know, with, with this beat, this administration, you know, I've kind of learned that, uh, all sorts of things can be possible, so it's definitely something I wanted to pursue when I heard it.
2:40
You know, it was a closely held source reached out, you know, somebody I've spoken to before and trusted and said, "Hey, uh, this, uh, National Parks official, the deputy director, Frank Lands, was out in Grand Teton scouting three locations this past week for potentially building a ballpark that could host a Major League Baseball game." And, and that's how it started.
3:04
You know, I defined a second source who could corroborate it, and then we take it to the government, and I, I got in touch with my colleague Stephanie Apstein, who got in touch with Major League Baseball.
3:15
She's a baseball reporter.
3:17
And, you know, we were writing it up based on the sources, and then all of a sudden got responses from the White House and Major League Baseball almost simultaneously saying, "Oh, MLB did approach the administration.
8:02
So help us understand how this event, this story fits in with what you've seen broadly from the Trump administration's approach to national parks.
1:52
What is the tip that got you started?

So it's definitely something I wanted to pursue when I heard it.
2:11
You know, as a closely held source reached out, you know, somebody I've spoken to before and trusted and said, hey, this National Parks official, the deputy director, Frank Lanz, was out in Grand Teton scouting three locations this past week for potentially building a ballpark that could host a Major League Baseball game.
2:34
And that's how it started.
2:35
You know, I defined a second source who could corroborate it.
7:33
So help us understand how this event, this story fits in with what you've seen broadly from the Trump administration's approach to national parks.
13:27
Tell us the big takeaway on the story.
13:29
Thanks for having me back, guys.
13:30
Appreciate it.
13:31
And yeah, I am in fact a bit corny, but hopefully I won't show that off too much right now.
13:36
It's your chance to shine.
13:38
But yeah, I mean, this story, like, listen, I mean, I guess it was expected.
13:44
You know, Lee Zeldin, to his credit, he came in as EPA administrator.
14:11
So what does this really mean, Jake, to you and to me and everybody else that has to live in the world on the other side of this? What does it really mean?
