Then, Jake Reiner's living nightmare.
1:21
I'll never understand.
1:22
I don't care how it's explained to me.
1:24
I don't care what facts come out.
1:26
His parents, murdered.
1:27
His brother, charged.
1:29
For me, it manifests into anger.

Uh, this is, uh, feels like home for me.
20:06
My dad always admitted that my mom was the person who was the aggressive type in making sure that my dad was out front with these issues.
20:18
Now, he cared about these issues more than anything, but she was kind of the engine that pushed him out there to speak out for what was right.
23:42
What was your favorite moment?
23:45
Um, well, when I stepped onto that mound for the first time and I looked up into the crowd and just seeing everybody cheer for me, and it was just amazing.
1:33
Robin Michelle Reiner's son Jake and his first on-camera interview eight months after his parents' shocking murders.
1:41
It's been eight months.
1:42
It feels like eight years at the same time, and it also feels like eight minutes because every moment that I wake up, I'm reminded of my reality, and you're living through that every single day.
2:20
In this interview with local L.A. news station KABC airing tonight, he still struggles to talk about Nick.
2:28
I mean, he's in jail.
2:29
So it's like I physically... lost my parents, and then Nick was arrested.
2:38
And it's like, now it's just me and Romy.
44:27
I
44:27
mean, just like Kevin and myself, this is same, same kind of connection.
44:31
I think that that's kind of what I've, I've been learning through this process is that when you think about grief, it's, You don't really know what it's like for someone until you're actually going through it yourself.
44:45
And everybody's grief is different.
44:48
And I've been working pretty closely with this grief expert named David Kessler.
44:53
And one of the things that stuck with me about what he preaches is that everyone's grief is the worst grief and if people understand that then they can kind of navigate it and i don't know what your experience has been like with people that that have you know come up to you or talk to you about it but um some people just say they they don't know what to say and like trust me if i was in their shoes and not in my shoes i don't know what i would say either and and that is just something that you kind of just you kind of learn and um it's it's a it's a tough thing it's a tough thing to navigate and and the other part of it is is that it's every day it's every single day you wake up and you're thinking about In my situation, I'm thinking about my parents.
45:41
I'm thinking about what happened to them.
