But let the fan base know why that's so important to have your quarterback play on the center.
7:25
I think it's key just to, you know, that's how football originally started, you know, and the shotgun is a great thing.
7:32
It's definitely a big part of the game, especially in college.
7:35
I mean, I see some games where kids don't even go under center anymore.
7:40
You know, sometimes kids will ask me, show me a three-step drop in my first instinct to go under center, you know, not from the gun.
7:48
I did all right from the gun, but I definitely liked being under the center.
7:51
You know, you have the run, pass, play, action, boot out game, you know, handy when you're under center.
10:33
What do you think the reason is? What do you attribute that to, the slow starts in the first half for Bo Nix and the Broncos offense?
GuyHOST
17:21
If we would just get out, get out of its way sometimes and, and stay as natural as possible, it would, it would do that.
17:27
Yeah.
17:28
I mean, to Texas, you know, they started the Texas Ibogaine initiative, uh, Former Governor Rick Perry and Brian Hubbard and a whole crew of veterans are helping reset opioid receptors in the brain by use of Ibogaine.
17:40
And it's like, this is working.
17:41
It's not like, okay, we need to do a $25 million five-year study.
17:46
Like, you can see it when a veteran is about to pull the trigger, end his life, be gone from this earth, and they go down and take Ibogaine in Mexico, which is a sad thing.
17:55
They have to leave our country.

GuyHOST
23:12
What do you, what do you recommend?
StephanieHOST
24:40
Ray Lewis
24:41
maybe took three steps once in a while, and some of those guys got away with a little more than they should have.
24:46
And you get pummeled.
24:48
You get hit.
24:48
And being smaller, they like to try to break me and hurt me and talk shit, and I would just talk it right back.
24:54
So they'd come even harder.
24:55
So when they did get me, it hurt.
GuyHOST
28:34
You're just right back in the flow of life and trying to, now you've got to figure that out after 10 years, you know, at the peak of where you were.
5:25
Yeah, is that the undefeated team?
5:27
Yeah, we were undefeated.
5:28
We lost in the Rose Bowl and, uh, actually played when, in what was a national championship game.
5:32
And, and funny was the reason I went to ASU, 'cause there was one coach that s- gave me that kind of confidence and said I was a quarterback that could lead them there, and that was Bruce Snyder.
5:41
So being undersized from a small town, really not supposed to have, have gotten all those offers and been there.
5:49
Same as Pat, you know.
5:50
He was an undersized guy, you know, wasn't fast enough to play, wasn't strong enough, all these things that people wanna cast at you, but he believed strongly in himself.

32:18
And, and a lot of this stuff has just not been okay in America.
23:14
Hmm
23:14
...
23:14
I was lucky.
23:15
I never had any serious injuries to have to go get a surgery or break anything really bad that caused that much pain.
23:21
But the anti-inflammatories were really the one that, that ultimately drove me away when, at a young age, 31, 32, I was, I was walking around like an old man and, uh, when I wasn't taking those.
23:33
So the, the, the post-career, we could go into a whole, you know, podcast.
23:38
We could talk for a whole entire couple hours on what guys go through after they get done with the game, when you're feeling great and you're still in good shape, and then 10 years, 15 years down the road when your body changes and you're not lifting like you used to.
26:39
I know you've talked about this, but I'm curious, how hard did you take Junior Seau's passing? And when you first heard that, what went through your mind?
32:08
How does your game plan change, particularly for a d- a younger quarterback like a Drake May, when those kind of wea- that, that kind of weather, uh, is, is a mainstay within the game?
32:18
Yeah, I mean, you saw the Patriots go to the run in the second half.
32:21
They, they actually had a pretty effective run game that kept them in decent third down situations a few times, uh, allowing, you know, the one game clincher that, uh, Drake made some big plays with his legs, especially late, that last one.
32:35
As a quarterback, though, the weather, I mean, we're both dealing with it on both sides of the, of the field.
32:40
Uh, I played in really only really one downpour of snow, and I was worried, thinking, "Oh, no, it's gonna be snowy and horrible," but it was actually dry.
32:49
The ball didn't get wet as opposed to the rain, and we, we had fun.
32:53
It was a Raiders game.

28:35
Where, how'd you get the nickname? Who gave you that nickname, first of all?
28:37
Yeah, well, I mean, my, my, my actual legal name is not Jake, so it didn't happen till...
28:43
You know, when I started playing sports probably around the sixth, seventh grade, I think it was the seventh grade, I went to a basketball camp, uh, in, in, in Idaho, up in McCall, Idaho, and the Boise State Bronco footb- uh, basketball players were running that.
28:57
Um, Chris Childs, who was a Boise State Bronco, was there.
29:00
Darnell Jones, Doug Sotillo, a bunch of guys we looked up to.
29:04
And when they s-...
29:05
My brothers had kinda called me The Snake a couple times just jokingly.

Did you get into this because of the pain that you had to deal with, uh, at the NFL career?
