We
44:51
have, what happens is we have a new algae growth late in the fall, which is something that, again, you don't see all the time with rising, or excuse me, falling water temperatures.
45:04
You generally don't get some kind of new vegetation growth.
45:08
But this is more of a sunlight.
45:09
So again, our water temperatures are still plenty warm enough to grow any kind of plant life that would want to at this point.
45:18
But what holds it back at this time is sunlight and the depth on top of these bars and flats.
45:26
But as this water starts to fall off of these flats, there's new sunlight up there.

particularly

and uh so based on that kind of chat we're not talking about the bait chat i'm going to hold off on asking you there because i got a couple more fun questions for you but in your eyes jake what do you think the biggest misconception is that anglers have when targeting bass in river systems during the winter months
10:10
what is the biggest misconception in river systems Winter time.
10:16
There are several, one of which, you know, we previously just talked about with everyone thinking that they go out really deep, you know, river systems in particular.
10:28
Or it could even be a man-made lake that's got a dam and is generating water oftentimes, at least in this part of the world or the country.
10:38
This is when we get a lot of our rain, starting really mid-December through end of May is kind of our wetter time.
10:47
And so that's usually when they're flushing the systems and we see a lot of this current flow.
10:52
So The current to me is one of the biggest keys in wintertime fishing in dictating what I'm going to do, where I'm going to go, and kind of how I'm going to target a particular, whether it be even really smallmouth or largemouth spots, either one.

18:23
But from there, where do you go?
31:21
You can't –
31:21
there's no zone there that tells you a bass is going to be.
31:25
And, again, just I cannot – cannot emphasize enough that that was not me that was making that cast there.
31:34
To all the cast in the world, in my life, you know, to make that cast on that moment, that day, it was just, you know, an absolute blessing and and cannot give him all the credit for that.
31:48
I did very, very little besides wind him in and, you know, get to celebrate with everybody.
31:53
So really special moment.
31:55
That fish blew up with, I think, 33 seconds left, 30-ish seconds.
