What, I guess, could talk us through that? What was it like knowing that you were so close to, you know, finally getting that cap for the Matildas that you've been after for so long and then have it just ripped away from you?

Jada WhymanGUEST
Yeah, it's a sad part of our sport, honestly, that, you know, you can't control when injuries come about.

Jada WhymanGUEST
it's something I still strive for and you know that was really heartbreaking at the time and I had to take a little bit of a time away from football to really understand why I wanted to play and you know those are great honours and opportunities and even though I was so close it doesn't mean I haven't you know earned that position where I was at so I'm just I'm looking forward to performing week in and week out and hopefully getting that opportunity again but yeah it's all part of sport and everyone has their stories that was just mine I guess.

What's, you know, how have you sort of found that experience side of things?

Jada WhymanGUEST
Yeah, there's been a, I guess everyone in football has their own journey into professional football and obviously mine was in terms of having a lot of challenges at quite a young age, not just in terms of what happens on the field but off the field and financially, football isn't the most cheap sport so obviously, you know, coming up from that kind of, I guess, background and then being able to get the opportunities that I had it was a great experience for me i think everyone just goes through their own experiences and hopes to you know bring that out and how they play and things like that and for me it's uh i love being an indigenous role model and things like that if you would like to call me that i guess but um you know it's just it's great to be able to have someone to look up to i think as for me it was lydia williams and still is um post career even um i think she was an amazing player for our game and So, yeah, you know, what she did for me, I hope I can do for the next Indigenous kid.
