wow that was an absolutely wonderful response Jacob thank you so much for that response sorry now Jacob you know many people use the word healing it's kind of like a buzzword nowadays now I mean very different things for different people When you say someone can heal from unresolved trauma, what does that process look like from your perspective?
9:55
Okay, so to heal something essentially by definition means that By the end of that process, something is no longer needing to be healed.
10:13
So something that needs healing means that it's in a state of wounding.
10:20
So there's a cut hasn't fully stitched back together yet and scarred over to the point where it's no longer bleeding or sore or anything like that.
10:36
um so when it comes to healing anything the first thing that needs to happen is one needs to understand what the nature of the thing that needs to be healed is because when we understand the uniqueness of the nature of the thing that needs to be healed we will understand what kind of things will help that heal and what things won't So there's an overarching principle there, and then that can be subdivided into specifics as well.
11:11
So what we're taught, medical practitioners can use the word trauma or traumatized in a physical, physiological sense.
11:22
um like a doctor could say there was trauma to the surrounding tissues of the original injury site or something like that but in this in this context for this conversation we're going to use trauma primarily in the sort of uh spiritual psychological mental emotional sense so the kind of invisible wounds that are still real but they're not objectively measurable so um so we're going to use the word in that sense so trauma to me essentially and there's two aspects to the definition of trauma that i use first and this is not in any sort of hierarchical order Um, they're both together.

While also drawing from lived experience, how do you think professional knowledge and personal experience complement one another in your work with your clients?
27:02
Maybe I'm jumping around a little bit too
27:04
much.
27:05
But because we're going through the phases, I'll actually start with the soul acronym and then get onto the trauma acronym second, because they're all part of the first phase.
27:14
But the phases themselves is in hindsight, they're the phases that I went through to actually heal.
27:23
And I didn't know it at the time, but as I was reflecting on what I went through, I was structuring it.
27:31
And Ken wrote a book called Finding Radical Wholeness, which talks through his five components of wholeness and also Paul Cech's Four Doctor model.

which is Dr. Happiness, Dr.

You know, maybe that's
18:41
that's very impressive at 14 to to have that kind of level of awareness
18:48
well it maybe for me for me it just felt like um it felt like the only log in the ocean I could cling to that helped me feel like I wasn't drowning.
19:06
Um, And the thing is that because it was so unrelenting how much of this sort of stuff was there, my sort of energetic experience of childhood wasn't childhood.
19:26
Every second of my existence, I just feel like energetically I've been poisoned.
19:32
And I'm trying to get this out.
19:35
And I need to understand what's going on.
19:36
And I have no idea what's going on.

26:02
also very, very hard for an

22:23
handling it,
22:24
burn me and just try and figure it out as opposed to trying to, trying to avoid it so much.
22:31
Um, and I think that was because of, um, uh, that, and just what my coach had taught me from an early age, like you're taught to, you have a challenge, like, don't run from it, like be brave and face it.
22:50
And if you, you can ask, you can always ask for help, but he'd be being very traditional and also deeply, deeply developed and spiritual man as well.
23:00
Uh, he taught us all about our soul very early on too.
23:07
And that deep inner strength that you can call upon.
23:11
And he had a similar, uh, kind of childhood too so he really understood what I was dealing with um and so that kind of moral foundation framework that is it's not even in my mind it's just woven into the fabric of who I am I say woven maybe more like bashed but um benevolently bashed but uh it It built the foundation from which I engage with everything.

Um, tell me, tell us a bit more about that.
