What were your overall thoughts on how the game played out before we get into the Zach Alley stuff?

Honestly, I'm very concerned about the defense, especially from what happened in the second half.

That's what had me concerned.

Because I did say this was basically a first to 42 type wins type of game.

You can't put it all on Michael Hawkins.

I feel like that's really going to hurt the Mountaineers if you're doing that a lot constantly.

If you're putting it all on Hawkins and Cook, it's really going to hurt you.

There's no way it's sustainable for the entire year to just run it every now.

What do you think about people saying it's a bad omen that game day came around?

I don't believe in that curse.

I think it's nothing but a load of horse dung.

I mean, does anybody really believe that their team is going to lose because oh, everybody pit my team on game day.

I know some people believe in it, but I'm not one of those people, obviously.

Does anybody really think Oklahoma State is sitting there going, oh, Johnny Knottville from Jackass pitted against us? They're not sitting there thinking about that.

They're sitting there thinking about West Virginia.

What are your final thoughts on this game tonight, Jackson?

But what about that potentially happening sometime soon?

Well, it would be pretty cool to see college game day go to Morgantown, West Virginia, for the first time since November 1st of 2014.

Like, that would be pretty awesome right there, especially to hear Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, call in a West Virginia game in Morgantown on Saturday night or Saturday afternoon or just Saturday or just as a whole in general, really.

But, you know...

I think why they went the game day was because of, like you said, the Manning Bowl.

Mark Manning has not been able to win a big game on the road.

And when he has won games on the road from last season, they were pretty sloppy.

Dan Lanning has to kind of reconfigure everything? As far as this game goes, what quarterback do you trust more? I said this the other day, right? I mean, Maiava or the Oregon quarterback, who do you trust more?

I'm still not happy that Alabama, South Carolina, West Virginia, Oklahoma State are on at the same time.

Yes, I think this is going to be – like you mentioned the receiving cores of Oklahoma State.

This is exactly why I say this is basically going to be a first to 38 wins type of game between West Virginia and Oklahoma State.

They've got some crazy offenses right there.

I mean, like I know it's not quite like the old days where it was like – It's not exactly going to be a Patrick Mahomes, Baker Mayfield type battle.

That's not what I'm saying at all.

I'm just saying that this is going to be quite a shootout that no one's ever going to forget on Saturday night on Fox Sports 1.

That's got to be – we'll see.

I didn't get a chance to look at it yet, but, but I mean, just give me your thoughts on the poll this week.

Well, I'll be honest.

I did not like how Kentucky and West Virginia were left out of the top 25 rankings, honestly, because I never understood Texas A&M being ranked after that debacle they had against Kentucky in College Station.

or better yet, when they won by four touchdowns against Arizona State, you think that tells the whole story, right? Well, it doesn't.

They got outgained in total yards by 186 yards by Arizona State.

They needed the defense to basically play Franklin Clinton to the Lamar for their offense because that's what it was.

I mean, like that A&M team, honestly, could have lost to Arizona State, but had it not been for the two pit sixes, they'd have lost to Arizona State or basically gone to overtime or won by like a few points, honestly, because Arizona State was holding on to that game most of the time, especially through the first three quarters.

And then, obviously, UT Martin, which I don't think is going to bring much value to the table, but you still have to win every game and then 3-0, right? And Jackson, I'll let you take over, Virginia.

Texas A&M being ranked, why? They got outgained by Arizona State in their fourth touchdown win only because the defense bailed them out against Arizona State.

They got smacked off the face here by Kentucky.

I'm glad Oklahoma is not in the top 25 for the AP poll, but I'm really disappointed in the coaches poll for having Oklahoma in the coaches poll.

You do not have a 14-6 win and expect to be called a top 25 team.

I would think he's player of the game right there for West Virginia.

And I was looking at the stats where I saw that he is the first QB since Pat White.

That was against Louisville from November 22nd of 2008.

I'm going to tell you right now, that was a humongous win for the Mountaineers.

From Cam Cook to Michael Hawkins to the West Virginia defense, they demonstrated genuine toughness, man.

Otherwise, West Virginia walks out of here with an absolute just smack job on Virginia Jackson.

I mean, like West Virginia is 6-4 over the last 10 meetings against the Virginia Cavaliers.

I mean, Virginia owns the series by two games, but that's because they didn't play each other in the 2010s.
