Um, so just what was, what was Shattuck like for the time you were there?

Yeah, I mean, like you guys said, I was, I'm from Eden Prairie, so it's only 45 minutes to Faribault there.

And, um, I was in ninth grade, so still pretty young at the time.

And, um, I don't know.

I didn't really have a reason of going there, honestly.

I just thought, you know, there's so many big names that went there, and, you know, why not try it for a year? My plan was always to play high school hockey, um, you know, 'cause that's what you grew up dreaming of, playing in the state tournament and everything like that.

So that was always my plan.

But were, were there a lot of things that, you know, you learned from him, whether it was, you know, on the ice, off the ice? Um, you know, what things did you, have you taken away from your dad when it came to your playing career?

career?Um, yeah, I mean, there's, there's a lot obviously.

I think having a dad who, who played is a really big benefit 'cause he's been through everything pretty much in his career, um, except for winning.

So, um, just, you know, all, all the little things, you know, obviously, eh, like every dad, "Just go out there and work hard," and stuff like that.

But, you know, he still texts me after games.

It doesn't matter if, if I score or have a best game, he always is...

He's pretty nitpicky with me, so he- he'll find something in there that I didn't do right or need to work on or something.

Like, uh, y- what have you... what's something you've learned from him, and, and what did you take away from playing with him?

Uh, do you and Taylor Hall have a secret handshake for every time you guys set each other up, or are you just keeping it professional? 'Cause the chemistry between you, on your line is unbelievable.

Uh, yeah, no.

Maybe we'll get that going, though, after you brought that up.

But no, I mean, those two have been incredible all year.

Like, we've played together for, all year for the most part.

Um, but no, I think in the playoffs we're just all, you know, buying in with each other and, you know, making it easier on each other, I think.

What are the team cardio sessions like to get you guys playing like that?

Whit did mention he, he talked to his father over Olympic break and kinda something clicked, but were you kinda shocked at the fact that they even, like, gave him the opportunity and, and stuck with it going into playoffs?

Um, no, I wasn't shocked really at all.

I mean, I've been playing with Stanky the whole year except for maybe a couple games in there.

But, um, you know, you never know what's gonna happen at the deadline, though.

Um, we didn't know what we were gonna do, and obviously didn't do a lot, but I think everyone was totally fine with that just 'cause we knew our group was, was something special.

But, um, no, I mean, Stanks has, he's been playing really good all year.

I think, you know, just getting a little unlucky.
