Jackie, do you think we would have got a different reaction if we'd talked to visually impaired children in mainstream schools? I know you teach in both mainstream and special, so I'm interested in what you think about that.

A couple of the pupils that I work with in mainstream, they are really, really good braillists and they are absolutely thriving.

They have classroom assistants, they have QTVIs who use braille and they are talking about going to university.

Both of these pupils are at different schools, they're not at the same school.

And as far as I know, the schools that they're at have not had blind pupils there before.

So to get us started, can you tell us a little bit about your career history and how you first got into hospitality?

It was a long time ago.

When I was 17, I was looking for a career and I just stumbled across a job advert as an accounts assistant in the Swanwick Street, which is an independent hotel.

So I went there as an accounts assistant.

Looking back at your career, you've obviously worked with so many different facets of the hospitality industry, right? What was, you know, thinking back to your time at Hilton especially, that transition like when you first started engaging in the corporate aspect of hotels more? What was that shift like and what was that sort of learning curve like, I suppose? Yes,
