55:10
But is it Halloween Australian or is it not?
55:15
Yeah.
55:16
I mean, it's one of those things, isn't it? You would have heard it a million times.
55:19
People go, I don't like Halloween.
55:21
It's not Australian.
55:22
It comes up all the time.
55:24
And on YouTube, I've got a video answering this question, is Halloween Australian? And look, it was a lot of fun to put it together, Dan.
56:57
Right.
57:03
Yeah.
57:04
These men were experts of, um, cattle, cattlemen and farmers and real estate speculators.
57:12
Well, Francis was so impressed with Cleveland that he bought land and built infrastructure, including, uh, a w- a, a wharf, um, various buildings.
57:24
He pushed really hard that Cleveland would be the capital of any future colony-
58:06
Wow
58:07
...
58:07
in the end, um, uh, visiting, uh, James, uh, Lang, the famous Scottish migration, um, champion, um, he, he went and visited the point, Cleveland Point in 1854, and he took one look at, um, Bigge's little, little, uh, hotel and said, "Oh, it's just a fle- he's just a, it's a complete folly." [laughs] And so he went back in New Sou- back in, well, not back in New South Wales, it was all still part of New South Wales.
68:55
Tell us that one, Jackarucci.
68:57
Yeah, back in the 1970s, Ted and a group of friends, they drove from Jindalee out to Goodner.
69:05
Now, today, you know, that's not very long.
69:07
distance but back then you have to come all the way over the bridge uh the the road out through passed through uh near the near the jail and on the opposite side although it's all cleared today it was once all heavily bush all heavy bushland and that's where the army barracks were they drove along the road and out they went Eventually, it ended up going driving through the little township of Goodner and all the way up to the cemetery.
69:37
Now, Goodner Cemetery then was, there was no crematorium.
69:41
It was very overgrown.
69:43
The trust that ran it did their best, but it was really hard to stay on top of the graveyard and keep it neat.
70:25
nervous.
68:44
Yeah,
68:44
well, for many, many, many years in George Street in the city, same road that led to the very end to Parliament House, there was the state government printery.
68:55
In later years, it became simply known as GoPrint.
68:58
And eventually, in the 1980s, they moved over to Woolloongabba, the old rail yards there.
69:05
But for the longest time, it was on George Street in the city.
69:09
And the facade of the building and the building itself is still there.
69:13
And one of the most interesting features of that facade is up high on the roof, there's two creatures that look down at people walking along the street.
71:37
And he was deputy premier once, so coo-coo, coo-coo, coo-coo.
69:00
Tell us
69:00
about this.
69:01
Mark and his team have been working for years.
69:05
Our long-term listeners on the show, Danny will know, we've been not able to run our tours at Bobber Road Jail because it's been closed due to a development next door.
69:15
It's been this new Bogger Road Village.
69:18
The great news is it finally opens on this coming Wednesday and Mark and his team are have built this new shopping precinct.
69:27
And I know a lot of people have been very anxious about it, saying, oh, you know, is it in the jail? Has the jail been turned into shops? And the answer is no, no, no.
70:04
So are you going to be able to tour the Boggeray Jail soon?
62:11
[laughs]
62:12
Yeah, yeah.
62:13
Um, you know, as a young student, his name, um, was Ken Cowan, guys.
62:18
And, uh, back in the early 19, late 1960s, early 1970s, the newspapers were full of stories about the weird and strange goings-ons at Toowong Cemetery.
62:28
And, uh, and there was a series of articles that were published, but Ken's story was particularly interesting, and I've never talked to you about it before on air.
63:18
[laughs]
63:18
Um, and, uh, yeah, he'd been, he and a friend had been researching the, some of these strange goings-on and going out at nighttime and interviewing local residents and, and, but somehow word must have got back to somebody he was doing this.
63:35
And so he received this, um, this message, and basically it was sort of like a, you know, really, it really sort of, you know, frightened him.
2:29
Why on earth did you give the rest of your working life to date to toilet cleanliness?
2:37
mentioned that we should measure our graciousness as a people against the cleanliness of our public toilets.
2:47
So I thought, okay, let's do it.
2:49
But it's not just the user's fault.
2:52
It's also the owner.
2:54
You need to clean.
2:55
And there's supplies like the coffee shop soap is so diluted until there's no soap inside.

25 MINS LATER

28:05
So what would you say to that? If the enforcement is
