Were you aware of what was going on in New York at the time that she was already in the air?

No, because there was a three-hour time difference and her plane crashed at 10.03 a.m. East Coast, 7.03 a.m. West Coast.

And at the time, we lived in a two-story house.

And back in the early 2000s, there were lots of telemarketers that would call the house.

And they'd be East Coast time, so they'd call at East Coast hours and wake us up at, you know... pre-dawn hours with the phone ringing.

So we turned the ringer off in the bedroom every night.

And I vaguely recall hearing the phone ring downstairs and I just figured it was a telemarketer and rolled back to sleep.
