get our hands around this big thing.
4:41
Yeah, and it's interesting that every resource I've seen, I've seen both things that have been drafted and things that are in process, breaks it up in a different way because there are so many things that are happening.
4:53
But I can broadly... separated into a couple of categories.
4:59
There are grant programs to incentivize new housing.
5:03
Some of those are existing grant programs that say they are going to prioritize their funding decisions in part based on new housing, so ability to permit new units, but also they're trying to kickstart pilot programs for things like good ADU programs or other missing middle.
5:25
They're doing small loan mortgages.
5:29
I don't remember exactly what the amount was, but studying that, looking into single-stair development, but also this more broad identification of opportunity zones where housing is appropriate and transit is close so they can prioritize funding towards that.

29:11
I'm not following what is going on with that one.
12:41
Nothing unfortunate about that.
12:44
One of the things that we've definitely seen is planning alone is just not sufficient because of a number of factors.
12:53
One of them, and it's common across many states that they say you have to create a local plan that you'll be evaluated on.
13:00
The problem with that is then there's a huge administrative lift.
13:03
They need to make the plan.
13:04
There needs to be some state agency that reviews and critiques the plans, and these plans are long and complicated documents, so that takes a lot of time.
13:12
If there is penalty for not having a compliant plan like there is in California, then there's a lot of complicated vociferous politics around that timeline because a city will play games to try to get a bad plan approved and there will be lots of back and forth and they'll be complaining constantly.

15 MINS LATER

28:00
But Is San Francisco making a good enough effort, right? Or if you had your dream come true, perfect world, anything you want, what would you do?
4:14
And then, Jack, um, what are insurers doing to make sure that these challenges around disclosure and customer understanding, um, are addressed?
4:23
Well, I think, uh, to, to Gary's point, I think it's, it's difficult at the moment because not many insurers are actually playing in this, in this space.
4:30
So I think, you know, education is a key piece which probably needs to be worked on, that, you know, traveling for treatment isn't generally covered under any leisure products.
4:40
Um, so I think education around wording and policy wordings, calling it out, you know, during a, a sale in which somebody's trying to look for a leisure travel, but they are traveling abroad.
4:49
Um, so there, there's plenty of ways they can do it through product design as well.
4:52
I think some are signposting out to other specialist providers to, to support the customer as well.
4:58
But disclosure at the point of sale is very difficult in, in this space, and I, I'm not aware of any specialist providers that would cover the world that we work in at Verisk, which is preexisting conditions and covering an individual's preexisting medical conditions, um, related to the treatment as well.

Jack, anything to add?
