Now, dear Rosemary, how did, you know, all these experiences eventually lead you toward the work you're doing today?
6:47
So if I understand you correctly, um, what ha- What led me to be doing what I'm doing is an experience I had.
7:00
Uh, my church created a discovery group.
7:04
It was a nine-week discovery group, and it, it involved about 13 or 14 women who were given the opportunity to talk about their life, their challenges, their experiences, and it affected me so much because I, I wanted to do...
7:27
I wish I had something like that when my kids were younger, when, you know, they were, they were babies and I was struggling to figure out how I was going to manage.
7:39
And in trying to find out how I could get to do something like that for other solo moms, I took the, I took the class, the discovery group twice.

7 MINS LATER

14:46
You know, before finally taking the leap, what kept you from starting, and what did that season teach you about fear, purpose, and timing?
12:04
Mm-hmm.
12:05
[laughs] And he listened.
12:07
And one of the things I did is that when they were about maybe five and seven, could've been earlier, I decided to dedicate them.
12:17
I brought them to church in front of a pastor and gave them back to God, because I said, "God, I can't do this.
12:25
I, there's no way.
12:26
How am I going to do this?" And I am grateful, I am thankful that I had the, the presence of mind to do that, because in that action helped me to surrender their wellbeing to God.
15:02
Mm-hmm.
15:03
And I'm going to tell you, throw everything out you know or think you know about church people, and focus on God.
2:14
Yeah.
2:15
And I'm sitting there thinking about it, and for the whole nine weeks, that's all that was going through my mind.
2:21
And I did it a second week- time because I wanted to train to facilitate, to, to, to be a facilitator for this discovery group.
2:31
I was so inspired by it.
2:35
It also helped me to discover that God was my father.
2:39
It was a church-related discovery group, so we explored the Bible and God as Father.
2:47
And I said to God, "We, we need to get this for single moms.
5:24
Mm.
KaylaHOST
26:13
Yeah.
26:14
So you're driving, you've set Google app Docs on, and you start talking, you know? Because maybe you want to talk about your feeling, maybe you're mad at somebody.
26:24
Maybe you're mad at God.
26:26
Talk about it.
26:26
That's your journaling.
26:28
You don't have to cut out 30 minutes to sit down and write.
26:32
It can happen at any time, at different stages.

And how do they begin to heal that trauma and still show up for the children?
