And they go right down the field, 11 plays, and, and punch it in with Love, who should have run between the center and right guard.

The big hole was there and ready, but decided to bounce it wide, and we'll get into the film room this week on that with, with AQ a little later.

But, um, you know, that's great.

And then of course, opening drive the other way.

They go down the field and score.

Not that Tyler can't, but how do you utilize

both? I've heard coaches talk about this before with running backs and young running backs, especially rookies in the league.

I saw Tyler Algier at the Green Bay practice put about three blitzing Packers on their backside.

Pass protection is so important for a running back.

And I don't know where Jeremiah Love is in that regard yet.

So I think when it's third down, maybe it's Bam Knight sometimes, but Algier might be your guy.

That's your 5'10", 225 crusher to help the offensive line when it's a third and long situation.

Mike, I should ask Mike his impressions of you then, since you just walked through the door.

Yeah, probably the other way around is better.

No, he's, he's, you know, obviously coming from the LA Rams tree, he's got a lot of those offensive kind of similar similarities to McVay and, how they operate and how they day-to-day go about their business, which is kind of fun.

I mean, he's young, he's youthful, he's energetic, he's got energy, and he's got, you know, I think his scheme is going to be fun to watch here just to see how the talented offense really can run it.

But so far, it seems like we're talking to Buda Baker the other day at his press conference, and you know, Buddha's been around, this is his fifth head coach here.

Right.

And they had some success here when he's been here.

But where's the struggle on defense for this going to shine the most?

W- what do you value in a radio broadcast? What, what can people expect?

So I always, uh, uh, I get asked this sometimes, right? And I'll go occasionally speak with, like, classes in Alabama, you know, on Zoom, and, and kind of guest speak, all that stuff.

And for me, it's four things.

Voice, warmth, energy, and sincerity.

Those are the main tenets, right? The voice, okay, how does it impact the ear? Is it instantly likable? Uh, does it have something to say? There's two parts to that.

Uh, warmth, is it approachable? Like, are they somebody that you could see sitting across the table from? Uh, the energy, clear, you have to...

I mean, this is the NFL.

We've had six head coaches since I've been here.

So how satisfying is it to get this one across the finish line?

Oh, I mean, yeah.

It's been, I don't know.

We're not digging ditches here, right? It is radio.

We're working in football.

It's the candy store, right? But it is still my career, and it's always been a goal to be the voice of a team.

I've been in the mix for some of these.

But do you have a short list in your mind of the guys that kind of top your list as your favorite guys to listen to on the radio over the time?

Mm.

And then about a week and a half later, I didn't hear much else.

You know, just, uh, kind of going through my summer and trying to have some fun and, you know, relax, get ready for training camp.

And they, uh, a week ago Saturday, um, messaged me and was like, "Hey, can we...

We're gonna get you on another interview with some executives this time." "Okay.

Cool." Monday, we, we ta- this was a Monday, a week ago Monday.

Talked, uh, for an hour on Zoom with a bunch of executives about philosophy and, you know, covering a team.

Yeah, yeah.

Is there something significant in your eyes that's changed from last year to this year?

there were a couple of very minor assistant coach changes, but it's, those aren't huge deals to me.

I think that just happens from time to time.

You guys get another job, move on.

The coordinators are back.

They both interviewed for head coaching jobs.

Grant Udenski, I think he interviewed two or three places and, Didn't work out.

I don't know if it's pressure on the receivers, but I think the receiving core is a significant part of this team this year, JP.

Are those final four weeks of the season, of that connection between Lawrence and Parker Washington because of the injury to Travis Hunter, and is that something that they're gonna build upon this season?

Well, it's a great question about Parker, and we, we saw him really continue to develop as that season went along.

There were changes in the receiver room.

I mean, Hunter gets hurt, here comes Jakobi Meyers, a new veteran guy in, and there was a...

You know, what's the que- how, how is this guy gonna learn all this so fast? And he stepped right in right away.

So Meyers was super consistent down the stretch, considering he came from Vegas and started the next week, and started every week.

So that opened up some things for everybody else.

Do you believe that college football is such that Indiana can sustain that, or are we now in an era where there's just gonna be a rotation of a different Indiana each year?

Uh, What were some of their answers regarding that, if they discussed it at all?

Well, a quick point about the offensive line there, the guard.

You don't get better and deeper at the offensive line unless you draft the offensive line at some point.

So they didn't really do that last year.

They did, they got Milam in there, but he was banged up, didn't play.

He'll be back in the mix this year, and he got pregnant.

So they've got another wave of guys coming.

How better off do you think they are in the fourth quarter if they had to face Josh Allen again this year?

What do you think, if anything, what have they been saying about that and what have you noticed? Well, there's two

main things.

I'll start with the defense and actually the whole team effort.

Fourth quarter of the game down in Houston, the Jaguars had a 19-point lead in the fourth quarter and blew the game against Davis Mills, the backup quarterback for Houston.

And that kind of turned the entire season, not only for the Jaguars, but for the Texans too.

They never lost down the stretch.

So that was one where, you know what, the Jags didn't really want to let that happen again.

How would you assess the talent that Trevor has to choose from in the passing game?
