But if you take calcium signaling, what you have throughout the cell and particularly near the surface of the cell where it receives the signals from the outside, signaling hubs, you know, literally locations where there are sort of communities of proteins that aggregate together, talk to each other and allow signals to pass through or block them or to amplify signals.
