we're going to take a quick break, but when we come back, we're going to get into some of the heated back and forth around questions raised on Ivan Milat and his potential other victims.

Well, let's go to Milat because, I mean, that's really what... started all this in many ways.

A bit of a recap to catch you up.

We've just heard a young Ivan Milat was in and out of custody in the 60s, including at Mount Penang, where teenagers were being sent after being caught in the nightclub Costellos.

We also heard Milat was taking teens into the cross, including a family friend, and he told her he'd killed someone.

Port Kembla Police will use an identikit to try to find a youth wanted for questioning following the fatal stabbing last night of a 50-year-old man, Mr Percy James Booth.

I'm not suggesting or even hinting the firm or any of his former colleagues ever did anything wrong.

There's no evidence of that.

I want to fast forward now 55 years to June 2026, when an inquiry into Ivan Milat's history and missing and murdered persons cases was being chaired by New South Wales MP Jeremy Buckingham Yes, he got his inquiry, the one he was agitating for in the first episode.

And on the first day of hearings, this inquiry heard from the family of a woman who went missing in February 1971.

Two years.

Ivan Milat.

This is really disturbing, but I know our listeners may not be as familiar with Ivan Milat and who he was and how he became Australia's, I guess, one of their most infamous serial killers.

Yeah, I believe that this is Australia's largest murder investigation ever to date.

And I think that should just signify that this was huge.

So it's not like you can just call an Uber.

You're walking along this highway, and people relied on hitchhiking to kind of get around.

And this is how Ivan Milat would target his victims.

He would go up and down this highway, see if there were any backpackers or hikers or people nearby, and say, hey, you know what? I can give you a ride.

Anyway, without further ado, time to update and scare the shit out of everyone.

Yes, Ivan Milat is still alive and he is part cyborg.

But time moves on, investigations continue, courts reconsider their old evidence, and new science changes what we knew.

Sometimes the biggest development is discovering just how much we still don't know.

And with that, it's time to take a look at our good friend, what friend? Ivan Milat.

In August 2025, the case entered another public discussion when Ivan Milat's name was raised in New South Wales Parliament.

Milat's name was bound to draw attention.

It is a view that I share with an increasing number of people that the picture of Ivan Milat as a reclusive lone wolf serial killer is incorrect or at best incomplete.

It is my strong view that Milat was a participant in organised crime, human trafficking, feeding men, women and children into pedophile and sadistic murderous sex rings.

The idea that Milat was an anti-social loner hiding out in the South West Sydney patrolling lonely highways for hitchhiker victims is not the complete picture.

The strongest words have come from within the building, as it were, from former parliamentary colleagues.

Two of his one-time upper house colleagues, MPs Rod Roberts and Mark Latham, have been particularly scathing.
