TammyHOST
33:51
Do you wanna tell us about that?
IrisGUEST
33:52
Yeah, I do.
IrisGUEST
33:54
Um, yeah, I do.
IrisGUEST
33:54
Um, I actually, um...
IrisGUEST
33:55
It was a huge, a huge element of probably my grounding in my teenage years that were very, uh, tumultuous.
IrisGUEST
34:04
And I had this awesome privilege of having a, just a snippet of a moment, which was maybe a week of doing what we called an intensive at the, the high school that I was at, which, um, small, small snippet is that it was my seventh high school.
IrisGUEST
34:24
And, um, I got to do this, uh, short class where I was introduced to, of all things in a public school setting, um, natural dyes, weaving wool, um, felting wool, knitting wool, and, and just this more, like, depth of awareness of fiber.
JenHOST
39:00
What? Oh, the thread.

[laughs]
IrisGUEST
10:57
And they were really tight.
IrisGUEST
10:59
Um, and so I said, "Ugh, these are impossible pants." And my mom said, "Oh, you should probably write a story.
IrisGUEST
11:06
That's a good idea for a story." And I was like, "Oh, yeah."
12:18
Is that a strategy that you do a lot in stories, where you make things kinda hard on your character?
IrisGUEST
12:23
I want to make a story where, yeah, they, they have to face some challenges.
IrisGUEST
12:28
Uh, because in stories there's always, like, this huge, like, disaster.
IrisGUEST
12:31
Like, there's an, some kind of, like, alien attacking, and they're always like, "Oh, no, this is scary," but I don't really feel like they actually, like, describe the character as the character would feel in real life.
