Tell me a little bit more about that, please.
2:30
Yep.
2:31
So as we just mentioned, I think it's probably one of the most interesting topics of the last week or two.
2:38
So what happened was throughout this month in September, the Petroleum Facilities Guard, which looks after the facilities in Libya's oil and gas infrastructure, has actually shut down two pipelines.
2:53
It started with the shutdown of the El Hamra Zawiya pipeline in the middle of the month after the PFG workers demanded better pay and working conditions.
3:03
And then this further escalated on the 21st of September when the facilities guard shut down a valve on the Sharara export pipeline.
3:14
So for those of you who aren't aware, Sharara is the largest oil producing field in Libya.

12:23
I gather there's been a little bit of development on that, but again, you're the man to tell us.
14:59
What do we know about the well? What's the history here? What's the play type? Give me the story.
15:05
Yeah, sure.
15:07
So VLOX-1 is an exploration whale, a new field well-cut that was drilled in the frontier Herodotus Basin.
15:17
It was spotted on the 23rd of May at a water depth of just under three kilometers, and it reached a TD of 6,500 meters.
15:28
um what's interesting is that it is one of the few wells again drilled in the basin and also of the western deserts coast and on the 24th of july the ministry of petroleum and mineral resources announced that the well encountered promising petroleum indicators following the collection of an oil sample so shell carried out testing operations on the well and those were finished um last week around the 10th of august uh we are still waiting to hear the results of that testing and we we and in terms of the play we actually had a bit of a discussion internally between ourselves like trying to think what the world could have targeted and There are a few theories.
16:19
One, it could be an extension of the oil fields in the western desert.
16:25
Second, it could be a complete new play that hasn't been targeted before.

25:22
And so what's happening with them, Imran? Right, so...
12:09
Should I be?
12:10
I think you should.
12:11
Yeah, it's quite an incredible feat that Egypt has been able to clear all of this debt, which reached, what, 6.1 billion on the 30th of June, two years ago.
12:24
And even as we were surprised that they were able to reach this target, you know, debt went down to 700 million around that in April of this year, 414 in May, and boom, zero in the 10th.
12:38
So, you know, that's quite an encouraging sign from the ministry, especially with Karim Badawi, who has experience in the oil and gas industry.
12:47
I think he used to work for SLB.
12:49
So he knows the importance of, you know, encouraging investment in oil and gas in Egypt.
13:01
It's great to have a guy with that perspective in that position.
1:51
My other questions are, who are the 70 IOCs who participated in this nomination process? And why were these seven high graded from the original 24? Just kind of walk us through the process, what you know about it, what we know about it.
2:03
Thanks, Patrick.
2:04
So in terms of results, what I'm expecting here is something to be quite similar to the previous bit round.
2:12
It will be mostly majors or super majors with some Chinese companies interested in the blocks as we saw in the 2024 bid around Sinopec and Zpec.
2:26
They won some blocks in Algeria, so I'm expecting some of the same.
2:33
This bid round is actually really interesting because you wouldn't think of it as an actual bid round.
2:38
It's more like a farming opportunity where ALNAFT is looking for companies to partner with Sonatrack rather than give actual acreage to a company on its own.

6 MINS LATER

8:59
let's talk about BP BP in Egypt specifically although we might mention another country that they're considering apparently I'll say leaving or divesting tell me what's going on with BP in Egypt and the reason I'm stuttering is because I thought they were staying I thought they did this big JV with Adnog Arceus and I thought they were picking up new acreage and so help
