18:39
Something wild, yeah
18:40
... running around his patio.
18:41
And he's running on the treadmill in one London, and I thought to myself, I was like, "Do I go speak to Josh or do I, like, size continue what I'm doing?" I was like, "I'm quite nervous to go speak to him." I was like, "What if he looks at me and been like, 'Who the hell are you, little girl, coming up and chatting to me?'" Anyway, went up to Josh and chatted to him, and I said to him, "I'm really inspired by kind of running at the moment.
19:00
I want to do something else.
19:02
I think I've done another marathon since.
19:03
I've always loved challenges.
19:04
I wanna find my niche in London.

23 MINS LATER

42:03
Mm-hmm
17:32
Um, but, like, are there any races that stand out as kind of, like, the, the best or the worst kind of racing experiences what, that you've learnt from the most maybe?
17:42
Um, God, I don't know.
17:44
It's, um, it's funny, I guess every race has given me a different perspective.
17:48
Um, the 50K last year, the British Champs, I was really proud of because it was a completely, 50K is n- like inverted commas, far too short for me.
17:59
Like, I like running long and far.
18:01
Um, it's far too fast for me, and I was really proud that it was a kind of almost like a backup second race to kind of what do I do next? My other two races hadn't, well, the race hadn't gone to plan.
18:11
Um, so I guess every race kind of has its, has its positive.
23:00
W- what surprised you most about coaching when you, when you got into coaching? Is there anything that kind of you're thinking, oh, that, uh, you thought would be easy that was completely different, or you thought this is how people want me to coach, or how they responded that was different to, to what you expected?
6:03
Sure.
6:03
Yeah, 4:00 AM.
6:04
Or yeah, 4:00 AM.
6:06
So LA was relatively quiet when we first started, but ob- being in the US there's a lot of tra- well, being in LA particularly, there were loads of traffic lights.
6:15
Um, so initially when it was quiet, they weren't really an issue, but as soon as it got busy, kinda from like, probably from about 6:00 AM, so about two hours in, they obviously became more of an issue.
6:25
Um, and the traffic lights in America seemed to go on for like minutes.
6:29
Like they didn't [laughs] they weren't a quick, um, a quick crossing.

30 MINS LATER

36:48
Okay.
27:17
yeah
27:18
and I was 17 at the time and I was like I've always and always I think always will have this mindset that I'm like I want to do more I want to do more and I was like oh my god like that sounds incredible I'd love to do that um she had also taught herself to swim couldn't swim prior um so I had this crazy idea initially and was like I'm going to do the archduark I think i'd stopped playing team sport and well i mean i was still playing team sport but i stopped playing it so competitively and i think i had this like itch i wanted to scratch and i kind of thought doing a triathlon or whatever my last year at school would kind of like complete that kind of training and block that i'd done um anyway long story short the archduark wasn't viable at age 17 so i did a smaller triathlon which was a marathon and a 10K lake swim, and then a cycle back from where I was back to school, which is like, I think it was like 30 miles.
28:08
The cycle was kind of the easiest such bit.
28:11
Anyway, fast forward, didn't go to uni, moved to London in 2020. and kind of didn't really know what I wanted to do or where I wanted to be.
28:21
I was a personal trainer, um, started working in a gym and kind of previously having enjoyed running.
28:28
I think running was kind of like, I guess the kind of go to, and I think it's why a lot of people get into running now.
28:33
Like it was free as such.

24 MINS LATER

52:51
