'Cause she, like, kinda schooled you on how to be a star.

It, it, it, it was a, it was a rare moment, and probably one of the f- the, the funniest for me.

'Cause we were, we were, we were shooting on the stage- Where this whole big, very complicated, um, special effect sequence occurs with all, and, you know, of course, all the effects were practical, so everything was happening right on the set as we were watching it.

And, um, for all the wide shots, Bette didn't have to be there because they had a s- a double for her.

But I stood next to her double, who from a distance looked a lot like her.

She only needed to be there for a two-shot or a, a close-up.

And so when it was time to do our, our two-shot, they called her in, and she was already kind of in a bit of a pissy mood 'cause her, her wig wasn't fitting right and sh- her scalp was itchy, and she was trying to figure out how to get it fixed and, and, um, and complaining to the, the, the hairdresser on set about it.

I wanna hear about your, uh, postcard battle with Roddy McDowall.

[laughs] Yeah.

Um, Roddy was my absolute favorite actor to work with, um, of anyone.

He, he was just the nicest, sweetest, most fascinating person I had ever met, and we got along famously right away.

We, we hung out together on set.

This was on Fantastic Journey, the series.

And, um, and the crew and the production was having trouble with one of our actresses.

So we would love to just hear about what it's like on the set of Gunsmoke.

Yeah.

On my way home, I stopped off in Texas to visit my relative, my cousin.

And I just thought, hey, it'd be kind of fun.

Star Trek's out.

We can all go see it.

I haven't seen it yet.

And they've been waiting for it because I've been talking about it, saying, oh, this is so much fun.
