W- can you tell us a bit about the symbolism of this piece?
2:26
Um, Things Fall Apart, the work takes its, uh, title from Chinua Achebe, the Nigerian author's, uh, seminal work, and, um, it's also about the question of potential.
2:36
What does it mean for an entire generation to somehow rise up and to think differently about a world which they've inherited? Uh, of course, in the 1960s, you know, um, Ghana was one of the countries that was at its, uh, height.
2:50
Um, so many African American scholars, musicians, intellectuals were coming to Ghana in search of trying to find their roots, trying to understand this new intellectualism with regards to like a Black nation that was like somehow leading the charge for like this, like liberty and things like that.
3:07
And of course, from 1966 till the year 1992, Ghana went through a series of turmoil, of different like, uh, coups and other things.
3:16
And of course, from 1992, Ghana has been v- very, very stable.
3:19
Of course, pri- even prior before that, but it's also created this environment which allows for artists like myself and our generation to be born, but also the generation that came before us, like Dorothy Amenuke, who is one of the artists in the show.

9:03
Yeah.
9:04
So this one, let me see.
9:06
It starts from here.
9:11
These receipts.
9:14
And these receipts are, what's the name? They are coming from the Ghana Industrial Holdings Corporation, GHOC.
9:21
