I was wondering if you could just tell us a little bit more about those songs.

I'm Not Ready for the Change, I think, is maybe the best sort of thesis for the record, where it's really just being overwhelmed when life is throwing too many things at you at the same time.

Ian DevaneyGUEST
Uh, that was one where, you know, speaking of like having fun with guitar tones, um, that was one that really sort of like blossomed in the studio and like the, the tones that I had had on my demo were.

Ian DevaneyGUEST
wildly insufficient and um there was no like sort of breakbeat element to it which was something like nick really loves uh like old npcs like the sampling machines that were sort of the foundational to like hip-hop and uh he's like a whiz on them it's like He doesn't have any of the new ones.

Ian DevaneyGUEST
And watching him work on these things is so crazy in the age of just chopping things up on a computer screen.

because perhaps the um youthful naivety of like oh we're on a magazine cover or on the radio or you know it just sort of it just happens and obviously it just doesn't just naturally happen so i was wondering did you have sort of more appreciation this time around for sure i think uh

I feel like the game has changed a little bit since I was last in it in that... uh when i was last a barista oat milk wasn't really a thing and there were there was you know almond milk and soy milk and such but each alternative milk is kind of has its own way of getting it right right um because you're gonna get some curdling well like yeah it's just like some like get you know some get too foamy some get not foamy enough and okay and so you know i had to i had to navigate that with the oat milk because these days everybody wants oat milk so interesting yeah

yeah when I worked at the uh on the at the supermarket I used to say cheers instead of cheers just to kind of keep myself

Ian DevaneyGUEST
entertain yourself yeah it's funny I was I was walking into or I was in a shop the other day um and the guy who was working there the person who came in after me they were like hey how you doing and he said another day in paradise and i had just seen this like tweet or something on the internet where someone was saying that like another day in paradise is is a shopkeeper's way of saying that they're like about to lose their mind and you should be like really concerned for them and while i was in the shop like six other people came in and that was his response to every single one of them And I was like, dude, you need a second phrase.
