Mm-hmm
5:37
... had like 2,000 followers, you know, and it was like high school and college friends and family, and I would post videos of me rock climbing on TikTok.
5:46
I had like 700 followers.
5:49
Um, and my advocacy I think was largely, um...
5:53
I would go to things with my dad.
5:55
I would, you know, show up to rallies or protests and do that.
5:59
And then as I've gained a following, I've kind of found a different way to advocate and a different voice, and I also feel more of a sense of responsibility, um, to speak out on certain issues and try to make change in certain ways.

Right
9:58
But you tell me, how much were you online yesterday? And these days, what does your relationship with the news, with social media, what does that look like? And how do you sort of protect yourself and take care of yourself with that relationship?
10:12
Yeah, well, I posted that TikTok video like immediately after my dad announced and then I tried to stay off of it.
10:18
It's hard sometimes.
10:20
So I was like kind of periodically checking.
10:23
And like that's kind of where I'm at lately.
10:26
I like go back and forth between like deleting the apps and then redownloading them and like deciding what I want to do.
10:32
Earlier in December, I like took two weeks.

Can you share a little bit more about what inspired you to share that? And of course, more on your take that running is a privilege.

Mm
18:21
...
18:21
in St. Paul.
18:22
Um- It feels very community based compared to maybe other places I've been or lived, and people have each other's backs, and the state and, like, the services the state provides, you know, support the people of the state, and it just breeds this community mindset.
18:41
And I think even though I don't necessarily live there now, when I go back, I feel at home because I know the people there are gonna have my back and are gonna be reasonable and are gonna be caring.
18:53
And I think that kinda keeps your feet on the ground when things are maybe pretty insane 'cause you know you have a place to go back to where there is that support.

Yeah.
28:09
Like, I'm, you know, the, the community is so rich and just culture and just the people are amazing, and I, you know, I'm friends with people from the community, and just, like, seeing an administration attack an entire group of people because of, you know, things that happened years ago and it, y- they say it's an entire community, I'm just like, it doesn't even compute in my brain to be completely honest.
