I guess the first place to start is to just tell us in your own words what happened and what frustrations you dealt with in trying to protect these precious children.
2:54
Yeah, so my children, Alec and Lydia, were failed by the system.
3:00
After filing for divorce and asking for divorce, their father threatened suicide in front of them, first off.
3:10
Then I got an order of protection against him for abuse, physical and sexual violence that was granted.
3:19
Then unfortunately that order was not followed by him.
3:25
And he broke that order by calling me and leaving, uh, ideolic, um, voicemails talking about Satan and demons and things that, uh, biblical ideologies that we didn't believe in.
3:41
And so I was very scared for my children's safety.
6:58
And how long after that did the tragedy take place where he murdered the children and then took his own life?
4:57
And because of that failure, that this is why Alec and Lydia are not with us any longer.
5:04
Yeah, the family court system that it was a systemic failure.
5:10
I believe that everybody played a role in this.
5:13
So from my attorney, his attorney, the judge, the courts, Department of Child Services, everybody played a role in this failure.
5:23
And so in my case, he did have that power and control.
5:28
He did exert that over me for many, many years.
5:32
And like you said, that was the underpinning of everything that transpired.
