As I mentioned, some people don't even know if they truly are emotional eating or not.
7:23
let's start let's start by level setting the definition because there are so many different there's so many different words and phrases that are thrown out there and that everyone uses and honestly i don't care about the specific definition of all of them because whether you call it emotional eating stress eating binge eating overeating if you are someone who sees food See, and typically I'm saying comfort food, the cookies, the ice cream, the chips, the pizza, that sort of thing.
7:54
You see it, you eat it, you can't stop.
7:58
You're like eating basically until it's gone versus till you're full.
8:03
Or oftentimes the women will, and me personally as well, wake up first thing in the morning, you are thinking about food.
8:10
You have this ritual, you have this plan of when I do this thing, then I'm gonna reward myself With whatever treat that is or you have a certain time of the day that's kind of a ritual where you have a certain you know three o'clock it's the Reese's Cup or you come home after work and it's the cheese and crackers or it's nine o'clock at night you're watching Netflix and it's the bag of cookies or the ice cream.
8:35
So and it's not being able to differentiate between what I call belly hungry and brain hungry.

15 MINS LATER

23:36
Right.
6:22
Yeah.
6:22
And, um, so, and, and I'm still on that.
6:27
Despite having reversed everything, I, I'm actually still on the medicine, but, um, the doctors, in terms of the fatigue and the weight gain and everything, like they just, they just threw up their hands.
6:40
They just was like, "I don't know what's going on." I mean, it was test after test, and they just were like, "I can't help you." And then I even went to more functional practitioners, and that's when it was, "Oh, let's try vegan.
6:54
Let's go vegan.
6:54
Let's go plant-based." So I was super healthy, eating vegan and, you know, all of my greens, and it helped initially.
7:05
It moved the needle, but then everything just stalled again.
11:10
But, uh, so how long did you persist in veganism and what was the, what was the, the thing, the straw that said, "Hey, this isn't for me"?
