Can you walk me through what an appointment would look like? What could someone expect when they get connected with a palliative care team?
18:37
I was really nervous at my first appointment because, you know, I had nothing to base it on.
18:41
But what the doctor really took a history, not just why I was there in the oncology area, but, you know, through my life, like what do I have depression which I did so you know things she needed to know anxiety all the other kinds of things what my home life was like you know was I working you know just what was happening aside from the cancer and that was the first time any of my providers asked any of these types of questions you know aside from my breast surgeon early on but I only saw her you know those very few times so So it was like a breath of fresh air.
19:23
It really made me feel comfortable that she was asking me these things.
19:27
I know that's part of her role, but she really opened the door for me being able to say or ask for anything.
19:36
Nothing was off limits or silly or ridiculous.
19:41
And that was really early on.
