Is that even possible?

Well, I don't know about that.

But what I do know is that our leadership in the military from the top to the bottom understands what the law is.

And they have a code of conduct that prevents that kind of action.

Just because you wear a uniform doesn't mean you're allowed to break the law.

And so I'm confident.

that if there are illegal orders that have been issued by the president, that the troops, the people who run, who are military officers will follow the law as they understand it to be.

Why don't these Republicans feel they need to level with the voters about whether they are healthy enough to serve?

Okay.

Because they know there's an election coming, and they know that this, uh, uh, plan, uh, flies in the face of the sensibilities of the American people.

You're telling me that you're gonna take taxpayer dollars and potentially pay, uh, rioters who desecrated our Capitol, who injured and attacked the police, uh, uh, attacks that led to the death of, of, uh, one of the police officers, and they're gonna be compensated for bringing this, uh, this attack on the peaceful transfer of power, which is the hallmark of our democracy.

In the House

... and quite frankly, we haven't heard from them, uh, yet.

We do know, uh, that signals have been sent on, uh, about their, uh, condemnation of this bill.

We're not paying right now for this, uh, billion-dollar boondoggle, uh, to, uh, to rebuild [laughs] the East Wing of the White House.
