Can you tell me what Disrupting Discrimination is about and what prompted you to start it?

Heather WallanderGUEST
But essentially, one of the things that going through discrimination made me realize was how little support there is for employees when the discrimination is ongoing, when it first starts, during the period when they should be documenting, when they need to be capturing evidence, when they need to be aware of what to watch for, how to determine that discrimination is in fact happening.

Heather WallanderGUEST
And the organization is designed to help people during those periods because that's before you can get a lawyer.

Heather WallanderGUEST
And if you tried to file with the EEOC, it's not really going to go anywhere because you don't really have, you don't have evidence yet.

For someone who went through it, how was that for you when you had no support?

Heather WallanderGUEST
One of the things to know about this role reversal is that I only had a week's notice to process all of this.

Heather WallanderGUEST
Actually, I didn't even have a week, and I had asked them not to start communicating it until I had a chance to talk to my team on Monday morning.

Heather WallanderGUEST
That following Monday, I had to communicate to my team, and I was emotional.

Heather WallanderGUEST
I mentioned, I was still reeling from this decision, and then the fact that I was trying to push back on it.

Heather WallanderGUEST
When I spoke with them, I still tried to stay professional, but I did say, my boss had told me to say it wasn't my decision.
