Arthur CroyHOST
To try to bridge the gap between what is really happening versus what the player is happening, knowing that the actual experience of the game is what the player is, what is happening with the player, not what is in the code.

Heather FlowersGUEST
Well, I think there are three different ways that those states can primarily diverge.

Heather FlowersGUEST
The first, which is the technical one, is just players are wrong about things sometimes.

Heather FlowersGUEST
Like, they make mistakes, they're not paying attention at crucial moments, they don't understand something that should by all rights be understood, and then they're playing a completely different experience.

Heather FlowersGUEST
Not much you can really do about that one other than hammer them over the head with certain stuff.

Heather FlowersGUEST
But, you know, who likes doing that? second I would say is directly lying to the player giving them a false expectation either from the get go or through the experience of playing the game where you can tell them one thing and have something else happen in the background You could say this will have consequences when something won't.
