And, you know, other than sitting in a library recording a podcast, what's it actually been like?

Yeah, I think there's a very real lesson to be learned from this story.

And it's that sometimes it's the right place, right time in terms of, you know, hearing about opportunities.

So for me, it actually came from I was in a meeting and our head of marketing here at Lincoln came in and we're chatting away about things going on on campus and different things going on.

And at the end of the meeting, she said, oh, we've got this amazing opportunity coming up.

to have the student ambassador program with Farmers Weekly.

I think they'd run something similar a few years earlier, but not probably to the same extent of the opportunity Sean and I and obviously Lauren and Patrick have had as well.

You've come off a dairy farm, Harriet.

What are you hoping to soak in while you're here?

Well, definitely just make the most of the opportunities and people around.

I was lucky enough to sit on one of the Food and Fibre Youth Network's chats earlier, and they were talking more about how to get young people into agriculture.

And I can see just looking at the map for here, you know, they've got a career hub for young people and... just kind of having those opportunities to network with people and really see what they're all about because it's so important probably going forward actually as they say educating our younger generation about those opportunities because we don't know until we're exposed to them and so it's really great just to see all those you know things pop up and yeah I'm definitely looking forward to maybe going in practicing the networking skills as they say yeah.

I guess when you think about your cohort of students and how are they feeling about their future in the farming world?

I think from what I could say on the job hunt at the moment myself, me and all my university colleagues are feeling the same thing that like people want to stay in the industry is what I'm going to say.

You know, some people leave university and say, I don't really want to go into my career path.

I would say most people who I'm with want to head into the industry and You can see that by the record number of job applications they're seeing for all these massive corporate agri-roles.

And I'm wondering where, what gave you the inspiration, I suppose, for kind of the underbelly of what could be female friendship?

I think it's the interesting, the contrast between what you're seeing on social media and what you know is really a fascinating subject for me.

I mean, just in terms of I think about it quite a lot.

There are various accounts on Instagram that I do follow and I do know a little bit about these people's real lives.

And you know that there's no parity? Yeah, I mean, well, I mean, I'm sure all this lovely stuff is going on for them.

But also, do you know what I mean? Other stuff is happening that for some reason they're not able to share or they don't want to go there.

But I sort of feel that in a way you've got...

I was reading that you said the fun thing for me as a writer is recognising that you can find the sinister, the menacing in the everyday.
