Ben SandGUEST
Eventually, I wanted more time as we had our first kid, and went to work for Rural Mutual Insurance for a little while, but missed, uh, the agronomy world, so took some different opportunities to get back, uh, doing crop consulting and providing agricultural inputs to, to growers, so.

Haily SandGUEST
Um, I grew up on a dairy farm in Trempealeau County, um, just a small, like 40 cow kind of a situation.

Haily SandGUEST
Uh, we sold the cows when I was little, moved off the farm, and I figured that was, like, this is my point of no return.

Haily SandGUEST
I'm not gonna have a chance to get back to farming just because if you're not, like, born into it and kind of handed down, it's gonna be really hard to figure out our way back in.

So I went on to River Falls and got a degree in crops and soil sciences, and then went on to Madison to get a master's degree in soil science, thinking like, "Here is how I can serve farms is by working with them, doing nutrient management plans, being a liaison between them and the government sort of a deal." And then met Ben and similar passion for agriculture, and he had the drive to find some land, and where there's a will, there's a way, and we were able to finally purchase some ground and a house.
