What do you like about the burger place?

You know, we're still in Smashburger era, and I like that they had this thick, juicy burger that I ordered at Medium Rare.

It was cooked Medium Rare.

You could get one with an egg on it, and that yolk runs.

Yes.

The bacon was good on that one.

You know, it was like a truly good casual franchise ish fast food hamburger.

Yeah.

Open until 2 a.m. nightly, I believe.

Hot Pots, which are amazing.

They make all their broths in-house.

Their broths are really delicious.

And then you order a whole assortment of meats, vegetables, noodles, whatever you want.

It's great.

Or if you go with someone like me who like sounds like this in this moment, you don't have to share the broth with them.

It was still going when I moved here.

So those things were still going on.

And then it was like in the mid 2000s, like a few years afterwards, things really started to kind of fade away a little bit.

So you had an attempt to like bring back the new Crawford Grill, a historic Hill District space like in Station Square.

But that lasted, I think, three years.

And then, you know, it's kind of like puttering along, but there wasn't like a lot of new energy happening there.

And then, you know, like everything else, like the era of the shopping mall as it was kind of came to an end.

The sushi restaurant, which is low-key one of the best in the city.

buy it out of someone's trunk situation?

It's this like brilliant Italian engineer who moved here, lives in the South Hills, started making gelato because his family back at home, you know, owned restaurants and stuff.

And so what you do is you go online, you order it, and then you pick it up the next day, either in Mount Lebanon at one of the grocery stores or at Espresso Amano in Dormant.

So it's a little bit it's a little tough because, you know, it's not like I want ice cream now, which is a real genuine reason to get ice cream.

But it's not like a long wait.

You know, it's not like a special order that you have to wait like a week for.

You can just say like, oh, I want ice cream tomorrow, which I want ice cream tomorrow is also a valid thing because isn't every day tomorrow.

Yeah.

I have not ordered the chicken at PetFisk.

Order chicken.

That's why I wrote this story.

And I started thinking about it there because I was like, oh, this is so interesting that this place, you know, that is so highly touted.

And is rightfully known for its seafood dishes and its highly seasonal dishes.

Also has this incredible chicken that is just cooked.

It's so beautifully cooked.
