Yeah, so a goals of care conversation is how a patient would like to be treated in the event of a medical emergency.

So in Alberta, and I specifically say in Alberta because they are different in each province.

If you were to have a medical emergency and you had no goals of care, you would receive everything including CPR, intubation, and ICU admission.

However, say for elderly populations or people with a terminal diagnosis, that might not be actually how they want to proceed.

Now, as you can imagine, talking about continuing life-saving measures or not is a really challenging conversation.
