So what would you say was the difference, aside from funding, from the first middle school to going to UConn?
12:08
speech and debate it definitely the kids in at waller they had never really they had had a drama class and stuff and things like that but it wasn't as in-depth as what i was pushing you know they'd done a play a year or a reader's theater they had really not experienced the production the rigor that it takes to put on you know a full-length play or even a one act you know and so they um Seeing that from the very limited experience, and even in speech and debate, that one semester I had that class, they had never gone to contest.

And so I said, well, we're going to get in a van at... four in the five in the morning, drive to Choctaw high school in December, and we're going to compete.
12:57
Absolutely.
12:58
You know, and just to see them experience something that when I went to Yukon, my kids there were already, most of them seasoned, you know, they knew what speech and debate was.
13:08
They knew mock trial.
13:09
And so it was stepping in to just help build the foundation that was already laid, but to get to lay the foundation and begin to build the house that And Enid was a special experience because those kids, they wanted so much more than what I could offer them.
