Yeah.
35:28
Yeah, I think there's, uh, uh, you know, the, the big craze at the moment is longevity, but the, the real thing is health span.
35:33
It's, it's staying on this earth for as long as you can in a healthy state so you can do the things that you wanna do, and, um, which is so important, right? So you have the choice to be able to go for a walk with your mates or, you know, have a game of tennis or whatever it is at, at whatever age you are.
35:47
So for me, when I retired at, at about 36 from professional sport, I, I maintained, uh, the exercise, but, but the, the changeover is that you're not trying to do it fast.
35:57
You're not trying to get quicker.
35:59
You're just trying to be consistent each day and do- doing something.
36:04
Um, a- and movement is another part as well.
38:30
What's the s- the, the thesis behind that?
103:22
What would you recommend?
103:23
Well, the good news is that you, it doesn't matter whether you're 20, 30, 50, 60 years of age.
103:28
Any, any exercise is gonna help you.
103:30
The, um, the stats are that if you do something two or three times a week and you run that out for, like, doing cardio exercise, for instance, like going for a brisk walk or a jog or something like that, within four months you're 25% fitter.
103:43
So you don't have to do a lot.
104:16
Yes.
104:17
Picking a mate to go and do it a- around the same fitness level.
104:20
Maybe picking an event, like you might have a 5K run coming up and you can say, "Well, in 12 weeks time I'm doing this, so I've gotta go and do some exercise." So it's all those things that, that sort of help.
1:43
So if you've got people out there listening, where do I start? What would you recommend?
1:49
Well, the good news is that it doesn't matter whether you're 20, 30, 50, 60 years of age, any exercise is going to help you.
1:56
The stats are that if you do something two or three times a week and you run that out for like doing cardio exercise, for instance, like going for a brisk walk or a jog or something like that, within four months, you're 25% fitter.
2:08
So you don't have to do a lot.
2:09
You don't have to be perfect.
2:11
Uh, and strength training is even better.
2:13
So if you do a couple of times a week of doing body weight exercises or lifting some weights within half that time, you're 25% stronger.

9 MINS LATER

11:24
You know, you're talking about making sure you go for your blood tests, making sure, you know, if the government are providing you with something to be tested, do it, use
97:01
... uh, here in Australia? Was, was there any ones that stood out?
97:04
So the funny one was, so the first ever professional Ironman race was the Coolangatta Gold, which was, um, born out of a movie in '84, right? And I was just, I was 19 years of age, went up to Queensland, and this race was, um, by far the most ludicrous thing you'd ever do 'cause you had to go and swim, run, and paddle from Surfers Paradise to Coolangatta in January heat, um, which was 23K, and then paddle the oceanske back, the rest of the way back to Surfers Paradise.
97:29
So anyone listening, you know, we've all done that drive from Surfers down to the airport at Coolangatta.
97:35
Imagine running, swimming, and paddling there and back, um, in like 35 degree heat in '84 when, mate, you had no concept whatsoever of what that race was even about because no one had ever done anything like it.
97:47
So that one is always the one that comes to mind because there was 250,000 people watching it because the movie was, um, was...
97:55
It, the, the race, the real race was based on filming, um- ... footage for the movie and then pretending to add in the, the actors and Grant Kenny for the finish part of the race.
98:04
So I was out there doing the real race, picked up $20,000 worth of gold, and then a whole professional sport was born out of that race.
99:13
Mm.
3:03
... uh, here in Australia, was, was there any ones that stood out?

5:14
Mm.

And you've got influencers, like you said, that are promoting products, trying to make an earn, and there's not enough data to say whether this stuff works.
