10:42
So talk to me, Greg, about how you came up with the idea or what made you want to create this app.
10:49
Yeah, I had the idea for Gathering because...
10:54
I would travel a lot.
10:55
And so I'd go to London, I'd go to Boston, I'd go all over.
11:00
I loved to travel.
11:01
And it was always really interesting to see not only what the local gay bar or something was, but where are there interesting events? And I started finding all of these interesting events as I was out and about.
11:15
And two things really inspired me for it.

15 MINS LATER

26:05
sale is getting ready to end and we're back to regular prices Would you ever go to Latin America and Asia and do that? I mean, Brazil has a huge gay population.
14:38
That's right.
14:38
You come, you receive a meal without cost.
14:41
Another man has paid that for you previously, and I just love what that means relative to, um, the welcoming environment that it creates.
14:52
And, you know, there's no c- uh, there's a real cost to come to [laughs] come to Jesus, but He's paid it all.
15:00
And so I just love that we get to bring men in, and we get to treat them to something on their very first visit.
15:07
And so, um, yeah, I, I just, I knew that you were called, and I knew that it wouldn't be a problem.
15:16
And, um, I've, I've had the privilege to be involved in enough ministries and see God's provision.

10 MINS LATER

25:38
Sure.
13:45
Do you sense that the bankers are bringing a higher proportion of the overall... audience this time around or investors in the room? How else do you think about the the audience composition?
13:56
Sure.
13:56
So it's one of those things where it's difficult to put everybody in a neat little bucket sometimes.
14:00
But we for the purpose of our big picture statistics, we count wealth management firms and investment houses in the same general arena as financial institutions.
14:11
And many banks obviously have wealth management arms.
14:13
There's a lot of overlap in terms of types of industry or types of companies within that industry.
14:19
The other kind of side of investors is the venture capitalists, the folks who are actually actively investing in the companies themselves.

17 MINS LATER

31:21
I think it's the Wednesday night and then also a breakfast on Friday.
12:50
I guess our friends at Circle are helping you put that together, right?
12:53
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
12:54
We're really thankful to Nick and the Circle team for helping to partner with us on this.
12:58
And they're sending a lot of really cool companies our way to help make that session a success.
13:03
This is one of those things that kind of started organically.
13:05
We noticed a little bit after the pandemic, we started getting a lot more credit unions reaching out, raising their hands and just buying tickets.
13:12
And so we thought, let's do something for that group to give them a little bit of extra attention.

10 MINS LATER

23:01
It's great to see the young folks, but it's nice to see who's got new ideas among the, you know, the the battleships out there
