Greg Lopez

Former United States Representative

Oct 13, 2026

79:39
How do you address that, Greg Lopez?
79:42
You know, Kim, I tell people the Republican Party is already a minor party.
79:47
I mean, when you look at the registrations, when only 23 percent of the voters are registered Republicans, they're minor.
79:55
They're not a major party.
79:57
They're holding on to that major title, and that's true for the Democrat Party as well.
80:02
You know, I don't look at, you know, when people say you're splitting the vote.
80:06
I think those individuals that use that terminology are not fully versed on how elections happen, on how people, individuals, can choose on their own accord who they'd like to vote for or not.

15 MINS LATER

95:48
So what would you say to this regarding this family? Because this breaks my heart.
0:07
Greg, why are you seeking this office, and what experience or perspective would you bring to the position?
0:12
You know, I'm running for governor because I believe that both parties have failed the people.
0:18
They no longer really focus on solving problems.
0:20
They focus on scoring political points, and I think people are tired of that.
0:25
I think people want common sense back in the government.
0:28
They want a governor that will listen to their concerns, understands their struggles, and more importantly, will do what's right.
0:36
And so my governing principles are pretty simple.

10 MINS LATER

10:41
What is one thing you believe Colorado needs to do that may be difficult, unpopular, or expensive, but that you believe is necessary? And what role would your office play in moving that forward?
47:57
So how do you convince them to undo what they themselves already did?
48:00
Well, the first thing I'm gonna do is work with the chambers of commerce and economic development groups.
48:05
You have to remember, I used to be the president of the Denver Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and all chambers are wanting to see more business come into the communities.
48:14
'Cause we all recognize that's the, the vitality of a community's business.
48:20
And so working with those respected individuals, not the legislature to begin with, because they will make the decision.
48:27
But you and I both know, Mandy, that everybody has a circle of influence.
48:31
Everybody has advisors that they listen to.

24 MINS LATER

72:25
Give me priorities, what you do, how you hit the ground running.
10:23
So how do you convince them to undo what they themselves already did?
10:26
Well, the first thing I'm gonna do is work with the chambers of commerce and economic development groups.
10:31
You have to remember, I used to be the president of the Denver Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and all chambers are wanting to see more business come into the communities.
10:41
'Cause we all recognize that's the, the vitality of a community's business.
10:46
And so working with those respected individuals, not the legislature to begin with, because they will make the decision.
10:53
But you and I both know, Mandy, that everybody has a circle of influence.
10:57
Everybody has advisors that they listen to.

24 MINS LATER

34:51
Give me priorities, what you do, how you hit the ground running.
104:36
So talk to me about that.
104:38
Yeah, you're absolutely right, Kim.
104:39
You know, it's interesting how Every candidate on their election ballot got on there through the process that is approved by the Secretary of State's office.
104:51
We're all equal.
104:53
Everybody gets a chance to decide how they want to vote.
104:56
And yet you have some media outlets that are really doing a disservice to the public because they want the public to believe that there's only two choices.
105:06
You either can choose from a Democrat candidate or a Republican candidate.
106:48
Well, and Channel 9 reneged on an invitation for you to debate Bill Weiser, correct?
21:48
So how do you feel about that?
21:50
Well, you know, I'm like everybody else, right? I, I was watching it from the bleachers because I wasn't part of the primary as an independent candidate.
21:58
But you know what, it, it is interesting that when you look at the character of Victor Marks, the Secretary of State has already notified him and that he owes back to the donors about $120,000.
22:12
You know, and to your point, you know, he, his burn rate on the money he raised was well over 90%.
22:20
And so you have to ask yourself, if he's spending money that quickly in the campaign, imagine if he was governor of the state of Colorado, how quickly he would burn through the taxpayers' money.
22:32
You know, so it's very interesting to see how the results came about, not only on the Republican side, but also on the Democrat side.
22:39
I have a lot of friends that, you know, are Democrats, and they're shaking their heads with the results of what happened on their side of the aisle.

27 MINS LATER

49:51
Yeah.
IconGUEST
24:22
Yeah.
24:22
Have a website, be up on your social media.
24:25
And to me, for what I do, is I want to give them something on my social media, like music, mixes, tracks I'm doing.
24:32
I want them to be able to have something of mine when they go there.
24:36
For free, you could listen to it.
24:37
It's one click away.
24:39
So when they look you up, even if they don't know you, they see your name on the screen, they look you up.

23 MINS LATER

47:52
And it's like if you have that mindset when you go in, it's that forward thinking of, man, I want to influence people and to just do with
5:20
How does that happen in Colorado? Greg, you wanna go first?
5:24
You know, Trent, I think it, like you said, I mean, some of the, the mindset of the Democrats is they, they wanna be kinda like the parent of everybody's children.
5:34
They believe that the legislature and the school district knows how to better raise children than the parents themselves.
5:42
And so they're pushing parents out of the way and they're passing all these rules.
5:46
As you know, I was a part of the original Protect Kids Colorado here, uh, trying to pass these initiatives.
5:53
The first time we were not successful 'cause we ran out of time on gathering the signatures, but this time they were successful.
6:01
And so we're gonna be looking to pass some laws that will prevent-... boys from playing in girls' sports.

18 MINS LATER

24:24
How c- what can we learn from that?
