What happened with Austin Wells where we've seen this complete turnaround? And have you seen him? Is his demeanor changed? Is he having more fun? What are your thoughts on Austin Wells?
9:56
Yeah, I think that that IL that he was on the IL for about two weeks in June for the cervical headaches.
10:03
Maybe that turns out to be a little bit of a blessing in disguise.
10:07
Kind of almost gave him a reset.
10:09
Like, you know, catchers have a ton of wear and tear and, It's, you know, he didn't even he doesn't sure for how long he was kind of playing through that stuff, like or when it first happened, but that kind of takes a toll.
10:20
But, you know, so he got the two weeks off to kind of get, you know, improve physically, but also just went on, you know, when he went out to AAA on a rehab assignment, he worked with, you know, the hitting group there to kind of clean up his swing a little bit.
10:32
Uh, try to get some more like lift on the ball.

9 MINS LATER

19:37
uh okay let's get to the injuries you said that Aaron Judge potentially could be back uh this next homestand what what's the update on the captain
8:13
So tell us about the Yankees without Judge and the, and the power of the tr- and the lineup and what it's like, what it's been like.
8:21
Yeah, it's definitely a different team, uh, without Judge.
8:24
Uh, they've really struggled here for the last, you know, the better part of the last month.
8:29
Uh, the first couple weeks after he went down with the rib injury, uh, they, you know, got some contributions from up and down the lineup, different guys withstood his, his absence.
8:41
But really since, uh, late June, it's been a struggle.
8:44
Uh, you know, they've had a number of key guys kind of going through it.
8:47
Cody Bellinger especially is, is in the midst of a rough slump.
10:50
What are, what are they looking for at the trade deadline?
9:08
But like after a while, you're like, oh man, how sustainable is this? So if you could just talk about the bullpen for a second and do you think they need an upgrade?
9:19
Yeah, I was going to say, it's definitely not, doesn't seem sustainable at all.
9:21
Like, it seems like Brent Hedrick is pitching almost every day.
9:25
And it's, I think it's just about half of the Yankees games he's pitched in, which is kind of crazy.
9:31
Obviously, he's pitched well.
9:32
You've seen a little bit more lately.
9:34
I mean, he was good yesterday, but I think the couple times before that, you start to see him, you know, give up a little bit more.

8 MINS LATER

17:46
But is there a difference between last year's team and this year's team that you see? Or is it kind of the same regime under Aaron Boone?
27:08
That doesn't work." So what's your take on, you know, that narrative and then also I know it's early in camp, but does it feel different with the roster construction because of maybe the way playing time will shift, pitchers like Cole that wasn't part of the mix last year? Do you feel like run it back is unfair?
27:28
Yeah, I think it ...
27:28
I don't think it's quite as simple as run it back.
27:30
Um, I get it.
27:31
It's, uh, you know, the I think 24 of the 26 players they had on the roster for the ALDS last October are still in the organization.
27:38
So in that respect it's, you know, it's, it's a lot of the same faces.
27:42
But they didn't have Cole.
30:40
Who has to have a better season for the Yankees to succeed? Knowing that Volpe's gonna start a little bit later, but that there's a ton of expectation on him, and people just have already penciled in Cam Schlittler for the All-Star game.
