So explain to me what it is, why it is it's more expensive than that.
3:29
Well, in particular, it's the issue with solar.
3:32
And it's not all of the solar projects, but a large majority of solar projects in the state run through one of two programs that the General Assembly has put into place.
3:44
One is called Renewable Energy Growth.
3:46
The other is called Net Metering.
3:48
And that mandates what rooftop solar, for example, and some of these larger scale solar projects, what price we're required to pay for that power in excess of anything that they use themselves.
4:04
And so that's where, you know, the story is not quite that it's five or six cents an hour, a kilowatt hour to generate solar.

heat.

So what, when you, when you talk about it with other utilities, is it about, and, and talk about that communication piece, is it about spending the bulk of their time to talk about market forces or about how some of these, what some of these actual efficiencies look like in a way that can create that tangible value or about driving policy decisions that ultimately impact affordability? Like, how do you, how do you try to, to focus that, that communication?
11:20
You know, it v- Jeremiah, it varies from t- from piece to piece that we, you know, obviously we're always trying to target a, a variety of, of different stakeholders when we're trying to get our messaging out.
11:30
But, you know, in general, I would say it, it's, it's all of the above.
11:34
We're trying to speak to, you know, regulators and legislators who are making decisions that impact us every single day.
11:40
But also ultimately to our customers so that they understand, you know, we are trying to be, look, we're trying to be disciplined with our capital spending.
11:47
We're trying to make smart choices and smart decisions.
11:50
We're, we're trying to have the grid be resilient for an ever-changing weather, weather pattern and worsening weather patterns, and we're trying to ensure that the grid is, is ready for future electrification.
14:13
But then, then too, then is it that un- uncomfortable conversation of, "Hey, here..." Like, how overt do we need to be in terms of here's the, the reality?
