Right
9:30
... is you've got to be able to accept the bad stuff.
9:34
Because, uh, also every golfer holds themself to the standard of whenever they were at their best.
9:42
And 99% of our rounds won't live up to that.
9:46
So there's gonna be a lot of struggle and, um, adversity that you face in your development and in rounds of golf, that if you're unable to deal with those you will not get better.
9:59
And what separates the best athletes from the average athletes is not their ability to, um, avoid struggle or avoid failure, it's their ability to recover quicker from it.
10:12
So for them to accept the fact that within a round of golf there's a good chance I'm going to hit some bad shots, and I won't view those as the end of my round.

The one on the beach.
7:34
Because I deal with it, look, whether I'm teaching them, members or people at ocean reef or i'm out here on tour i'm working with a good junior like oh it's a why am i not getting better and i have my thoughts but i would love to hear sure i think a
7:47
lot of golfers don't get better because they don't have the patience so they don't drink enough steak they don't have enough kids when they play um they don't have enough patience to weather the storm of making changes oh wow so it's very comfortable to slip back to what we did forever it just feels normal so they don't have they also don't have the stress tolerance to deal with um feeling different right and they can't every golfer wants to be as good as they can be right now so it's very difficult for them to see a shot or two that doesn't fly the right way and say oh screw this this doesn't work i'm just going to go back to what i used to do Right.
8:32
So you have to we've talked about this before, too.
8:34
Confidence for me is not so much a product of what you've already done, but a belief in where you're going.
8:40
So if you find a teacher that you trust and you have a good relationship and there's good communication and you believe in what they're telling you, stick it out.
8:52
You know, making changes isn't easy.
8:55
Right.
12:08
No, they don't.
3:24
Mm-hmm
3:25
... and the other is playing golf, and they're almost two separate things.
3:28
Um, it, it's tough.
3:32
A- and I think a lot of young, mostly younger kids who are really gifted physically and they develop that skill at an early age miss that step, um, of learning how to play.
3:46
They can get away with physical talent only to a certain point, and then they start showing up to events where the fields are a little bit better, the f- the courses are a little bit more challenging, and they start to feel a little bit nervous, right? That's the big difference.
4:01
The, the, the ...
4:02
It feels different when you show up to an event than it does when you're practicing or even playing casual rounds.

15 MINS LATER

19:00
Right.
