You know, when you were on the blocks that day and you had Kieran Perkins right next to you, I'm assuming your parents were watching in the crowd and you basically had the weight of all Australia wanting you to win or at least wanting you or Kieran to win.
33:01
Yeah.
33:02
They would have taken either one of us.
33:03
Yeah.
33:05
It was really funny.
33:06
I remember I wanted to get an early lead on Kieran because I knew I still had a little bit more speed in that early stage of the race.
33:15
But I knew if it wasn't big enough, you either got to do one of two things.

17 MINS LATER

50:21
How did you navigate that and how did you navigate the savageness of the Australian media?
2:51
What was that transition like going from being a gold medalist and Olympian into the business world?
2:57
Yeah, it is really funny.
2:58
It's a really good point that I've actually been doing this much longer than a professional career in swimming, which was 13 years, but I'm going on to close to 20 years in this space now.
3:07
So doing it for a long time, the cameras don't usually enjoy finance like they did Olympic sports.
3:12
So obviously with that profile, that just sort of seems to carry through with me.
3:17
Even just coming here today, I'm the swimmer and people think you don't hear them, but It's something that's going to stick with me, which is a nice thing until I'm obviously not here anymore.
3:27
So in terms of that transition, it's a big challenge.

20 MINS LATER

23:33
Can you walk me through a real client scenario where an investment bond beats the alternative? with these policy shifts in mind
17:00
Mm.
17:00
So, you know, you're starting basically from a zero tax position.
17:03
Um, and also there's a lot of efficiency inside the portfolio there, because what the asset consultants do, they put together the portfolios for a financial advice practice.
17:13
They've got all the different strategies that sit there, so you can have high growth or you can be all the way down to defensive.
17:19
And so you sort of choose your adventure depending on what your risk profile looks for that client.
17:23
So we set those up for a lot of self-licensed practices.
17:26
We do it for dealer groups-
19:08
Mm.
82:11
Talk me through the pain.
82:12
It was the hardest race that I've ever done.
82:15
I actually swore after that I'd never race like that again because it was so excruciating.
82:20
My four-year-old son actually watches clips of that race.
82:23
For some reason, I've got four kids.
82:24
He's the only one who wants to watch anything of me, but he loves it.
82:27
He's a very competitive little kid too.
85:05
Are we talking finger positions? Are we talking toes, feet? What sort of skills are we talking about when you get to that absolute world elite area?
