... who was, she was 51, and that's all the info they really could give me.

And then got in contact, kept up in contact.

How did this whole thing start for you, Grant? How did you know that there was this need to do the cheek swab?

So it was really a random kind of day.

Me and my roommate had just gotten out of our accounting class, and we were walking on campus, and we saw NMDP, which is formally known as Be The Match, had a pop-up cheek swab test because there was this young girl that had leukemia, and they were trying to find a match for her.

So we did the cheek swab test, Kind of really heard nothing back, but we were registered.

And then about a month ago, I received a call through NMDP saying that I was a perfect match for this woman with acute myeloid leukemia.

Yep.

She was 51, and that's all the info they really could give me.

Did they fly you to like another state to do it? Or could you do it where you were?
