Going All the Way

You eventually were working around Chicago theaters, including the Steppenwolf, which is legendary and I love.

You met Amy Poehler, who plays Inda later in your career, but what could you tell me about breaking in from the stage to the screen? I know that this would go to your first two films of Going All the Way and City of Angels, but what could you tell me about that kind of road? Because not everybody makes it from stage to screen.

Just to clear up a little bit, a group of friends of my peers at the University of Illinois started the Defiant Theater together.

Because I'm the one that made it onto television, people often say, oh, it was your company.

there was just always some sporadic work, either commercial work or film and TV.

And so everybody would audition to try and get in the film or to get the McDonald's commercial.

And I got cast and going all the way.

And then there was an Andy Davis movie called Chain Reaction starring Morgan Freeman and Keanu Reeves.
