3:47
Did you like what you saw? What did you like about what you saw?
3:52
Well, I, I did, I did like what I saw.
3:54
I, I thought, I thought they played really well.
3:56
They didn't start out great, but they, they, they played really well.
4:00
Um, they, they played good offensively, you know, putting up 45 points, that's, that's, that's, that's major.
4:10
Um, they played good defensively.
4:14
The thing that I saw is they played that game, to me, like they knew they were the better team.

15 MINS LATER

19:06
What did you like best about what the defense did to turn things around?
9:39
No?
9:39
'Cause if we look up around week eight or nine, and we're still in that teeter and just kind of this and that, Brian, just take the rest of the year, man.
9:49
Get completely healthy.
9:51
Don't, don't rush back for a, for a already bad defense.
9:55
One person is not gonna make the difference.
9:58
You're one person.
10:00
You're not playing a corner, so we still gonna have what we got going on there.

16 MINS LATER

25:44
... or smaller range for their rules
7:55
[laughs]
7:57
And I'm just being honest, right? But if we would've had to play a situation like that, then we just had to play the situation.
8:07
But in the game, I probably would've, I probably would've told Slay to lock it up.
8:13
Just go, just go lock it.
8:16
I wouldn't...
8:17
The coaches coach the game.
8:19
The coaches give you tools.

22 MINS LATER

30:00
GQ, uh, before we head into that one, we'll, we'll, we'll preview that one later in the week, but before we, uh, leave the folks here tonight, what are your parting words, sir?
2:20
Is that your biggest takeaway from this victory today, or did you see something else that caught your eye when it comes to what drew your attention in this big win today?
2:28
Yeah, I mean, you know, it's football.
2:30
It's NFL football, and the games are tough.
2:33
But at the end of the day, can you make a play to win the game? And they did that today.
2:39
Chuck Clark came out with the big sack.
2:42
Jack Campbell come through with the recovery to close the door on the Jets.
2:46
And now we can sit here and say, what is the Jets, right? We gave up 24 points to the Jets.

20 MINS LATER

23:02
How do you see that affecting what he wants to do? How does that affect DeAndre Swift? How does that affect Colston Loveland? How does that affect Roma Dunzey, Luther Burden? And when you've got all these explosive pieces similar to the Lions and then you miss your quarterback, How does that affect everything you want to do going forward?
22:50
sidelines or in the stands? Just in the
22:54
building.
22:55
Because I was there a couple years ago when they were rolling and they were thumping and it was like they showed up knowing that we were going to whoop you.
23:09
Now it's like it's like they trying to hang on to what that was, because they know they really ain't that.
23:19
And it's like the fans used to feel like that they were really like that, the team was.
23:26
And now it kind of feels like the fans know, I mean, we try to be, but we really ain't like, right.
23:37
And it just felt weird in there on Sunday.

19 MINS LATER

42:37
mean, it's huge.
16:58
And what are the chances they can sort of keep pace if they need to win this game?
17:03
Well, I mean, I haven't seen a lot of the Bills' defense.
17:07
But historically, the Bills' defense has been good.
17:10
Jim Leonard was a really good player back when he played.
17:13
I remember Jim.
17:14
And so you would expect them to have playmakers, like I said.
17:18
But the Texans were able to put up 31 points.
22:06
Brown.
16:19
So analyze that, what you see from the Bills defense and what Detroit brings from an offensive standpoint, and what are the chances they can sort of keep pace if they need to win this game?
16:30
Well, I mean, I haven't seen a lot of the Bills defense, but historically the Bills defense has been good.
16:37
Jim Leonard was a really good player back when he played.
16:39
I remember Jim.
16:40
And so you would expect them to have playmakers, like I said, but the Texans were able to put up 31 points and I think the Lions are going to feel like their offense is probably a little more explosive, a little better than what the Texans are.
16:54
So they're going to feel like, hey, we can score 30, 35 points.
16:58
They're probably going into this game feeling like this is going to be a shootout type of game.

5 MINS LATER

22:12
Brown.
7:00
As far as the defense goes, as far as that goes containing that Saints offense, did you see anything there that they might want to tweak along the way?
7:09
Well, I mean, it's exactly what we thought about.
7:11
I mean, you look at, you know, the defense.
7:14
I mean, you give up 400-something yards passing to Tyler Shuck, right? I mean, I don't know if you had it on your bingo card.
7:21
You know what I'm saying? But if I was betting, I probably would have said it because we knew coming in that the secondary was going to be, you know, a problem that we had to deal with.
7:32
And, yeah, they made a couple plays, but at the end of the day – 400-something yards passing with Tyler Shuck, you know, Josh Allen is licking his chops.
7:42
And I'm not saying Josh Allen ain't gonna throw for 600, but two 400-yard passing days back-to-back, that's gonna put you at the bottom of the league in pass defense.

6 MINS LATER

13:51
How do you think that felt? What kind of game do you think the Saints played or was this more the Lions not living up to expectations on the defensive end?
ChrisPANELIST
41:49
Like, is this Lions front seven good enough to bail out that secondary, give them some extra time?
41:55
Well, I just don't, I personally don't think, not that they're not good enough, but it's how long do they have to be good enough to be good enough in a sense.
42:08
You see what I'm saying? Can they bail them out? Can they bail them out for the first game? Can they bail them out for six games? Can they bail them out for 17 games? You see what I'm saying? It's like, yeah, can you win, you know, two games because the front seven just kind of dominates? Or do we have those times where the front seven feels like if they don't get to the quarterback, it's not a good situation because you also got to think, right? You know, when you talk about the front seven, if you – are trying to help the secondary out, you're either playing a zone, right? And typically in your zone or even your man to man, you're probably not blitzing, right? You're trying to keep as many people in coverage as you possibly can.
43:10
Or you can say, well, we're going to try to get after the quarterback and make them rush, and we're going to blitz them a lot, and we're going to play whatever behind it.
43:21
But when you start blitzing people, you lose guys in coverage.
43:25
So now you're forced to have to play either some fire zones where there's holes, or you've got to play a lot of man-to-man with not a lot of help outside of the blitz got to get there.
43:39
And so if those blitzes get picked up, you know, teams keep in a running back, you know, now they got, you know, six man protection that can create seven man protection.

22 MINS LATER

ChrisPANELIST
65:31
Sorry.
6:54
What did you see about him then that might have made him special or tipped you off that he might have coaching capabilities down the line? And what do you think of the job that he's done so far as a head coach in the NFL?
7:03
Well, I think Kellen, he was always smart.
7:05
You know what I'm saying? When you look at Kellen, Kellen is not one of those guys that's just going to wire you physically.
7:11
He's not going to beat you with speed.
7:14
He's not a fast guy.
7:15
He's not going to beat you with size.
7:17
He's not a big guy.

9 MINS LATER

16:11
What is your expectation for them this year? Do you see any fall off without David Montgomery in the backfield to help Jameer Gibbs? Do you see this thing continuing to click along with Isaac Tesla as the third receiver? What are your thoughts on some of the new parts that they're working with and where they are as far as this offense goes with Jared Goff?
13:41
um junior college southwest mississippi then from there to new mexico at what point did the nfl become a realistic life for you and did you see yourself playing a decade and the pros
13:54
juco to new mexico um you know so when i went to juco um I, you know, we didn't have all the transfer stuff like they have now.
14:05
So I didn't get the offer that I wanted coming out of high school.
14:08
And so instead of going to a smaller D2 type school back at home, I just figured I'd take my chances and go to JUCO.
14:16
So, I mean, I was already qualified out of high school, so I didn't have to go to JUCO for grades or anything like that.
14:23
I just wanted a opportunity to play at a higher level in a sense.
14:27
So I went to JUCO and I graduated JUCO in three semesters.

16 MINS LATER

30:10
for you though, what was, what was clicking Glover? How were you able to string together seven picks, make all the plays that you made that that would have been the one you probably look back to most fondly?
10:34
When guys are brought in like this and they get cut like this and it shocks everybody around, what's happening behind the scenes that leads to a decision like that?
10:44
Well, I mean, a lot of times, you know, there could be things going on that we just don't know about, that they know and we don't know.
10:52
So they make a decision based on that, right? Because, I mean, if you're looking at it just based off the surface level, meaning, hey, we've seen the top guys, we've seen the next set of guys, and he should clearly be the guy.
11:11
But he gets cut and you're wondering, well, who's the fourth guy? They chose this guy? Okay, well, what's coming down the pipeline that they know that we don't know? And so I think that's where we just have to be fans and just let the front office and the people make decisions and just wonder.
11:35
I wonder what went into that.
11:37
Because when a player comes in, like you said, with the relationship with the offensive coordinator from prior team, you would assume he knows the system.
11:52
Like you say, he has value in the return game.
