There are some recent examples that are pretty interesting in terms of even this Trump White House that had sort of zeroed out a lot of these forms of assistance to the United Nations now trying to scramble and figure out ways that they actually, now that they need to program some humanitarian assistance, and, and Ginger knows this better than I do, so maybe I'll turn to her, but there are some interesting recent examples of this.

Ginger JacobsGUEST
One thing that was discussed a lot at the Aspen Security Forum last year was what's gonna happen with US foreign assistance.

Ginger JacobsGUEST
This year it hasn't been raised at all, but there's been, like, quiet announcements just in the last month or so that the US is doing, and, and most of it has been through OCHA and WFP, and I think that is raising some attention in Washington by others in the administration that don't like that.

Ginger JacobsGUEST
But w- the other part is when you do have a crisis like Venezuela, they've been forced to figure out how to respond, and they've been doing it either through the UN or through some faith-based organization.

Ginger JacobsGUEST
I think they are realizing that they hollowed out the capacity of the State Department, and there are things that the UN is traditionally very good at that they have to rely on when they need to get this assistance to people.

Ginger JacobsGUEST
And so it's almost like a we're following their own personal journey through that, and I don't know where it's going to go.

Michael HannaGUEST
That's one that I'm keeping a close watch on because the US is already engaged and if it has the political will, has some tools to impact that conflict.
