But they didn't work him into 11 on 11s until the following week.

Of course, he didn't play at all in the preseason.

And no matter what, the speed of the game in the regular season is even just a little step up from preseason.

And he's had none of that full speed work, really, because 11 on 11s is as close as you get in practice, but the quarterbacks don't take hits.
